Anyone going to any playoff games?

Post#1 » by timd1218 » Wed Apr 9, 2008 2:15 am

Does anyone plan on going to a playoff game or do you already have tickets.

I'll be at Game 1 tomorrow night. I was at Game 3 last year and I was embarassed with the Pens fans as they booed the Canadian National Anthem. Hopefully, they won't make the same mistake this year. The atmosphere is going to be amazing tomorrow night. I'll be sporting my Brooks Orpik jersey and hoping he levels Spezza and/or Heatly.

Working. Otherwise I would, tickets are a easy find. I do urge other B's fans to get some, before the canadiens migrate south and out cheer us. That is what happened last game.

I would feel really bad for Boston if that does happen.

I was so pissed. I had a thursday night off, 20 dollar tickets. So I take the T up to boston. As I get there, habs fans everywhere, and tickets were sold out.

I agree with the other thing though, I hate it when fans boo each others national anthems. No class.

I wish, but im betting Wings tix are expensive as hell, and being a poor college kid is not conducive to going to playoff games

Yeah I would love to go as well but we are rabid fans and tickets would be very hard to get I dare say the hardest of all the American teams.

timd1218 - So you were the guy in the Oprik jersey the anoucers were making fun of ! I must say thats pretty ballsy buying that instead of Malkin, Crosby, Fluery or Stall or even Whitney.

Going to Game 1 of WAS/PHI game tomorrow night. Friend had an extra in his company's suite. So, not only will I be going free, but I'll be gnoshing on my buddy's company's food and parking my butt in the nice leather chair in the suite's "balcony" that hangs into the Verizon Center.

It almost makes me want to cry.

Lol. Was the person wearing a Pens hat? If so, that is probably me. I'm one of the few people who have a jersey who doesn't have Crosby, Malkin, Staal or Fleury (Like you were saying) on the back. He is my favorite player. I guess that goes to show you that I'm not one of the many Penguin bandwagon jumpers.

I love wearing it because he is my favorite player, and for the past couple of years, I have taken heat for wearing it because he wasn't playing like he was capable of, and now that he is playing like a true shutdown defenseman, It's greater to wear now. I loved to wear it before but it's better now.

What did the announcers say? That's kinda funny.

I was joking man they didn't say nothing about it. Well allot of people I think might even have Lemieux or Jagr jersey's I know Lemieux would be my choice for my first Pens jersey.

Aww that stinks. I was excited I was on TV.

There are a lot of Lemieux jerseys in the arena. Hardly any Jagr jerseys. Most Pens fans hate Jagr for what he said when he got traded.

I'm not driving 30+ hours to watch the Sharks in either San Jose or Calgary. I would consider it but because of the long drive the only day it would work for me is a Saturday, and there are no games scheduled for a Saturday in this series. Flying isn't even an option right now with the nasty price/cancellation combo the airlines have going on right now. I'll just have to hope they play someone closer later in the playoffs. I lucked out last year in the playoffs as I got to go to games in Nashville and Detroit.

If they make it to the finals I'll most likely go to a game no matter where it is. I guess I better get a passport in case I have to go to Canada.

Do AHL games count? I'm going to the Admirals/Wolves games at the Bradley Center on the 20th and 23rd.

Figures. Admirals take a 3-2 lead in the 3rd period, give up the game tying short-handed goal (of course I can't complain too much about that since we got a short-handed goal) and then lose it in overtime.
