I was actually thinking about this today. If he can hit 20 wins, and keep rolling i think he has to be strongly considered.

I don't think Price has qualified yet in terms of games played. Anywho, I still think it's a toss up between Patrick Kane and Nicklas Backstrom. I'm hoping Backstrom takes it, this guy is going to be one of the best playmakers in the league if he isn't already. Him+AO = deadly

theres been a few rookies who have been better then Backstrom this season but because he plays besides Ovechkin and racks up the assists people think hes been more impactfull then he really has. Kane, Mueller and Price have been better rookies this season then Backstrom.

I really like the way Mueller has been playing all season the guy looks like he can one day be a great player. I think Gretzky compared him to a young Steve Yzerman and that's a big comparsion considering I think Stevie Y is a top 10 player of all time.

I think it will come down to Backstrom or Kane. Kane and Sharp have really found their neiche in Chi town and look like a damn good 1-2 punch for alot of years to come.

He has zero chance of winning the calder. I have never even heard him mentioned when they talk about the award.

How could you have not heard of Carey Price, he is probably the most important reason why the Habs are at #1 ... not anywhere underneath...
dude's been a beast and is a hero in montreal.

He would have won if he wasn't injured this season. As a Blackhawks fan, I want Kane to win but I also think it may be close with Backstrom.

It'll be between Price, Backstrom and Kane

I personally think it should be Backstrom, he's a great player that no one talks about as much as they should cause Mr. Ovechkin is president in Washington. But Price will definetly be a candidate

Well it sounds like Price really isnt in it according to the "Experts" (who also picked Boston to be 15th and the Habs struggling to make the playoffs so take it with a grain of salt...) And they seem to think that Toews will get a lot of consideration as well. So we'll see what happens, but again this year its been a great crop of rooks.

Toews missed a considerable amount of time though due to injury so i don't think he will be as much

After watching what Price has done I think it should be his. The guy steped up and just flat out won games. He would get my vote if I were a media guy.

Backstrom is a good talent but "Ovenchicken" will get goals simply because he's a sniper and arguably the best player in the game today.

Kane was the most consistant rookie thruout the whole season and therefore he should win the award.

I know the postseason shouldn't be a factor in this voting, but do you think they'll give it to Backis because he had a goal in each of his last four playoff games?

Considering that he centered the MVP's top line, was on a playoff team and was a beast in the postseason, it might go to him. I hope it does. Hes awesome.
