Pens in 6.

I'm guessing I'll be the only one to pick the Pens.

Brooks Orpik wins Conn Smythe.

Just kidding, MAF wins it.

According to my calculations, the Penguins will win the series. And they're going to win the series in Pittsburgh, so I'm going to say Pens in 4 or 6.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

I think this is going to one of the best cup finals in a long time.

MAF goes down with a series-ending injury in Game 1, followed by a performance by the backup goalie that single-handedly sinks the Penguins' shot at a title.

Detroit wins in 7.

I agree, lots of exciting young players on both sides, and just two great teams. Should be some awesome individual plays and some exiciting games.

Here are some key stats for anybody who isn't too fimilar with the Pens. Just to give you an idea of who plays in which situations by TOI. Which defenseman hit the most, who will take a key face-off, etc, etc, etc.

As you can see, Brooks Orpik is 2nd among defenseman for TOI and 1st in Blocked Shots and tied for 1st in Hits. Just the way I like it.

I still haven't decided yet, but I do know (or hope) that this bad boy is gonna go at least 6 games.

I hate the NHL TV schedule. Why wait until the weekend to start the SCF. Game 1 should be tonight. The NBA is doing it right by starting the series right away and not waiting like the NHL.

And with the way the NHL is doing it, by having games on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday...they're asking fans to choose between playoff basketball and playoff hockey as the NBA will also have games on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday.

Have a head to head with the NBA. What a genius way to increase the ratings. :banghead:

And Detroit fans are going to have a lot of decisions to make this Saturday as all three Detroit teams (Tigers@7:05, Wings@8 and Pistons@8:30) not only have games that night, they all have HOME games. :o

IIRC, Joe Louis Arena and Comerica Park are within a few blocks of each other in Downtown Detroit. Talk about an absolute traffic nightmare on Saturday.

They arent terribly close if i recall, but leaving the games will be a nightmare. I was just at a Tigers game a couple weeks ago and it took an hour to get on the highway. Two games leaving around the same time???? Dear god

I don't think the NHL is too worried about the Tigers. They are doing terrible plus the Red Wings and Piston are in the playoffs. Ratings wise, the NHL should do well. Probably 50-75% of the homes in Pittsburgh will be tuned into the game. 54% did for Game 5 between the Pens and Philly.

The game should be sold out because I know of a lot of Pens fans that are making the trip.

I don't care about the NBA playoffs hurting the NHL ratings. I'm mad about the TV stations controlling the playoffs because the NHL playoffs are suppose to be this grueling 2 months but in reality, it's not anymore. The Pens are gonna have plenty of time to rest. Playoff beards don't mean what they did before.

The TV stations have taken the tradition out of the NHL playoffs, and I miss it.

hockey games are always Saturday... so I think they based it around that. (plus it was mostly NBC's doing)

Franzen and Chelios both out for Game 1.

Gary Roberts will be a healthy scratch for the Pens.

One thing I will say, if I do get the chance, I won't let my teammates down.

- Gary Roberts

After reading that, I think Therrian should put Roberts in the line up.
