seriously what does chandler, gallo, fields do for you....they all get Deng Contracts and suddenly they arent really assests anymore...Rumors are they want to get rid of Nene and Harrington, so again what sense does paying Gallo, Chandler big money to not make the playoffs in the west...where do you go from there ????
4 picks and Favors gives you a few years of tradable assets, especially if you draft safe...|Letting Contracts expire and collecting Rookie deals is far more beneficial assets then paying a bunch of role players market value for what ???
Chandler, Gallinari, Fields, Mozgov, 1st round pick (for Mozgov), $20 million in savings...quite a lot?
And everyone eventually gets contracts. So what happens when Favors needs to get a contract? Harris is already got a contract doesn't he? And take a closer look at those "picks". It's basically one single pick that is of any sure value (the Nets own for this upcoming draft which has been widely acknowledged as the worst since 2000). Draft safe? Their GM would have problems climbing out of an open box, what are the chances he has any clue about drafting? And what are picks that could be 2nd rounders, that won't be around for some time, that may not produce going to do to get butts into the seats which...at the end of the day...IS what it's all about. Kroenke knows that cause he's owns 2 other teams.
lol Favors doesnt need a contract, the picks arent contracts, and when they are they are rookie contracts, thats my whole point...those things are way more valuable assets going forward then Wil and Gallo..Field is a nice assest but whats he going to cost ? Moz who knows...
I guess if your a GM who wants to rebuild Traditionally over the next few years and save money while taking rookie deals and letting larger contracts expire, or use picks to rid them completely, then you do Favors and the Picks..
And if you want to rebuild your team around Gallo and Wil over the next 2 Years and tie up salary for next 5 years, and not make the playoffs, then our deal is better....
I dont think NJ is an option, but there deal isnt bad...both are downright outrageous...
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.
