I think NY is going to ask Melo is it worth it for us to give Denver what they want?,

or do you want to play with Gallinari and Fields and wait till the offseason.?

They can chat it up but in the meeting it will be in an official, formal setting. So they can chat it up as friends but in the meeting they meet as potential partners and allies..i.e. not room for BS or shooting the shti or joking or any of that. Straight business. And Amar'e can be very business-like, so I think he should still be there.

Isola article (or Hahn's, can't recall) speculated that such a meeting would occur either today or tomorrow.

I wonder whether it's possible that Uriji or someone from Denver's front office is planning on attending the meetings with the Nyets and Knicks. It's unlikely I suppose, but it is possible and something worth thinking about.

That would limit what the Knicks could or could not say to Melo.

But it would also allow everybody to hash out something that makes sense all around. Three-way negotiations.

Exactly. Which is why I have a hard time understanding Denver allowing Melo to meet with the Knicks. They can basically set up a plan to break Denver down and do whats best for themselves. Doesnt make any sense for Denver. It helps the Knicks to lower whatever offers they have made or even take them off of the table if Melo says I'll just sign with you guys in free agency.

If Nets take a meeting and say he wasn't interested it would only make the Knicks case stronger. Denver shouldn't let that happen.

I don't know...the more we are able to freeze out the nets from this, the better I think.

It would be extremely favorable to us however, if they did hold the three-way meeting and Carmelo flat out directly tells Uriji and Prokhorov that he will NOT sign an extension if the trade to NJ is consummated. That would really blow all the air out of the room for NJ and would really boost our leverage in a literal second.

I really wished Donnie could of made this meeting. It's time to see what Allan Houston is made of as a GM. I don't trust Dolan at all, it's time for Alan to shine and show his GM skills.

Yup. Another poster had a good point that it's Denver pushing this but Melo can end it by saying, no meetings. I am over this.

No harm AT ALL but this whole situation probably could have been avoided if Melo says ONLY NYK; apparently he hasn't done so because DEN is asking for packages for Melo that only LeBron should be get. :lol:

Melo's camp knows about the ridiculous requests his FO is asking for from NYK so he has to realize that no rational organization is going for that bullsh*t. He knows NYK is trying. I see this meeting with Dolan better suited to laying out a plan that will illustrate how Melo can make up the money he MIGHT lose out on the new CBA...if he loses any at all - too early to panic.

As much as I like Jay-Z as an artists, what is 2 percent really? According to Forbes they are ranked 21 in NBA's most valuable franchises at 312 million.
