Very impressive, but from what I read his injury is both very serious and very unusual, and nobody is willing to say how long it will take to get better, or even to say they know exactly what is wrong or how to fix it. I'd feel bad for the kid if his career is messed up even before it starts, but from a Raps perspective, isn't this a serious concern?

no, it's just his toe it won't end his career.
I mean worst comes to worse they can cut it off, not that that would ever happen.

 Toes cant be that important right

He's still better than Calderon even if he had to play without an entire right leg :D

It's not just his toe. He has ligament damage as well in his foot and from what I read the injury is a very unusual one that doctors are uncertain what to do with. I read this a couple days ago and can;t find the article for the moment, but it was not just a toe issue for sure.

actually i found it:

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/20728/kyrie-irvings-injury-still-has-no-name

“It’s a combination of things,” Collins said. “There’s a ligament and some bone in there that have been damaged. And from what we’ve seen, it’s a very unique injury. It’s a form of turf toe but it’s a little more severe than that. It’s been hard to explain in layman’s terms. But because it’s in the ball of his foot, that’s a really dicey area. That’s where you do all your cutting and your jumping. And that’s where you do all of your pushing off from. That’s what’s made this all the more delicate. I don’t know that the injury has an exact label. If it has a name, I don’t know what it is. But it’s something that we need to make sure gets healed correctly before Kyrie even thinks about playing. Because otherwise he could have more problems down the road.”

A couple highlights and the link http://insider.espn.go.com/mens-college ... id=6131081 to Jay Bilas's list of Most Respected Players in College BB.

Kawhi Leonard, San Diego State: Leonard is a man. He has huge hands, goes after the ball with tremendous will and plays with an unyielding persistence. In short, Leonard plays hard, and he plays hard all the time. Try going to the gym without seeing Leonard there. He loves to play, and that is contagious. Leonard shames his teammates into working harder and wanting more and does so without having to say a word about it. His example says it all.

Derrick Williams, Arizona: Williams is an easy person to like and is quick to smile and share a laugh. Until recently, though, he had no real idea just how good he was or how good he could be. Williams is the most efficient player in the country and is very productive with fewer shot attempts than most any other player. Against UCLA, Williams fractured a finger, wrapped it up and has continued to play. His loping style gives the impression that he isn't going all out, especially in a drill, but when you see him on the floor in a game, you know he has that "it" quality. As he learns to be more vocal and a
better leader, he will become a complete player. He is already a respected one.

Norris Cole, Cleveland State: Before he scored 41 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and dished nine assists against Youngstown State on Feb. 12, Cole was a known commodity in basketball circles. He has been a respected player in the Horizon League who is ultra fast, productive, can get his own shot, take over a game and has perhaps the best understanding of the game of anyone in the league. The Dayton product is a terrific student and a leader on and off the court. Ask anyone in the league, and Cole's name will be mentioned first.

I really hope one of Knight, Selby, Marshall, or Curry are available with that Miami pick... any of those 4 would be a steal talent-wise imo.
