Has he done anything impressive defensively this game? I'm sick of offensive oriented bigs.

I'd rather draft a true 3 than a tweener.

True but this performance isnt that surprising from Williams. The guy is EFFICIENT. If you had to bet on who would put up 25 points on 11 shots, you always take him

For sure, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying not too get too excited over a hot shooting performance. He's good but not that good.

Of course. No way his 2nd half is as good as his first, but I've always liked what he's shown (not just this game)

Definitely, and you can add me to the bandwagon today if there's space left. I think he can be a small forward and let's just say if we miss out on Kyrie, I wouldn't be mad at Bryan taking Derrick Williams.

Few deflections and a steal I think. He's defending C's so it's hard to judge his defensive potential as a 3

What's a true 3? Good outside shooting, length to defend on the perimeter, aggressive shotblocker and rebounder. He brings a lot more at this stage than Barnes. The good news is that his performance solidifies the top 5. And we're likely drafting 5th.

A true 3 in my mind can handle the rock (like Pippen/ T-Mac).

If Williams could carry his team to a win, I see him being talked about as the number one pick.

Holy, anyone watching the online feed of the game? The girl talking about the game is hot!

Although I also like that skill in a 3, that's more a point forward type. Traditional 'pure' 3's are more built along the 'Nique or Bernard King mold.

Edit:D Williams reminds me a lot of other high level college tweener scorers like John Wallace, Ed O'Bannon...what's his name from UNLV (went like 4th or 5th)...most of them fail in the NBA.

Well, Pippen and T-Mac aren't in this draft, and unless Quincy Miller fully recovers from knee surgery, their clones won't be in the next one either.

im hoping we somehow end up 4th in lottery standings (SAC passing us). CLE takes Williams, MIN/WAS wont take Irving and he falls to us :)

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

A 3 in the mold of Luol Deng is a perfect player for any team.

If wizards wins the 1st pick I see DWill/Perry/Barnes having a shot at it but if wiz doesn't, then it's clearly Irving the consensus #1 pick

I'd still be shocked if CLE passes on Irving. The will be looking to trade/waive Baron and go young at the point.

I don't see Min passing up Irving if they have a shot at him. They need a PG upgrade as bad as we do, and Rubio is hardly guaranteed for them. Don't see Cleveland passing on him either.

I guess my big issue with this team is that our starting SG is a poor ball handler & doesn't have the ability to beat his man on the dribble. Penetration is a big issue with this team (outside of Barbs).

JJ's ball handling is decent, but I was hoping that we would eventually get someone that is a better ball handler to replace him in the starting position.

I'm probably asking for too much, but that's what I like in a 3.

In that case, Perry Jones is the only 3 prospect in this draft that you might be satisfied with.
