this will hurt the lions they were one of the better teams on the returns i can't believe they voted for it.

Logan joined a chorus of return specialists speaking out against the new rule, which was adopted by a 26-6 vote at the owners meetings. The Lions were among the teams to vote for the proposal.

Though he returned a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown last year, Logan said the changes are "a disadvantage" to those who make their living playing special teams

It's not about what gives us the best advantage, it's about money. High profile players getting hurt is a risk that no team wants to take. It's not like we can say well our problem is the Bears problem and same with the Packers so it's even, cause all teams are at risk on average to overall larger expenses when injuries are more likely. Every team just saves on cost, and the only reason why 6 owners voted against it basically boils down to possibly a few teams that feel they have an especially unique advantage in the return game as opposed to a questionable one that we might have, and if that number is less than 6, then the remainder would be comprised of owners who truly value the excitement and integrity of the game more than the money itself and are actually willing to take on the higher overall cost structure to have a more enjoyable game. Long story short, lower costs which seemingly to the owners will make for higher possible profits is the trump card, thus the vote was a landslide.

this rule only means that stefan will be running more out of the end zone ,5 yards deep no problem zing touchdown!!!

stefan logan showed the athletic ability that made him a star in Canada by returning a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown against the St. Louis Rams, giving the Lions a 10-3 lead. Detroit won the game, 44-6.

The return ties the Lions' record for longest touchdown in franchise history. The mark was previously set by Terry Fair in a 1998 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which was also a kickoff return.
