Kabongo looked kind of small out there, no? Very impressive passing skills though.

Best players were Gilchrist n' MacAdoo. A cut above. Then Anthony Davis. Birch had a nice line, was one of the few guys contesting shots. He was the best Canadian. Zeller and Cook looked good, too.
Teague and Rivers were robots. You could see everything coming. Kabongo had a nice start to the 2nd half, but was made everything a little too difficult.

Agreed on McAdoo and Gilchrist. They stood out from the rest. I knew about Gilchrist, but I did not know about McAdoo - he's very smooth.
Anybody know if McAdoo is a 3 or 4?

Wow Barnes draft stock rose to 2nd overall.. Dammit, I don't think BC will take Perry Jones he's a Power Forward in which I think Ed Davis is good enough. I think if Irving and Barnes go, I hope the following prospects come to us:
1. Derrick Williams
2. Kemba Walker
3. Terrence Jones
Sorry but I don't think Euro's will cut it.

Terrence Jones has been very passive lately. I don't think he's a top 10 pick anymore.

he's been invisible in the tournament... although he might still get picked at around 9 or 10

Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 5
I can see BC drafting a non N.American - which is fine with me since this is a good year for that.
My concern with drafting a non N.American is that in the last few years no stars have been drafted?
If Bargnani is considered a starter/lead scorer for his team - compare him to other non N.American draftees in recent years are they better?
Batum? Splitter? Gallinari? Beaubois? Fernandez? Asik? Jerebko? Casspi? Even Thabeet who's African?
M. Gasol is a yes but you can see the quality of young non N. Americans have dropped. That's my concern. However the N. American crop this year is devoid of star power, is it worth taking this risk given Bargnani is one of the better Euros in recent years?

Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 5
you draft BPA, if thats Perry Jones you draft Perry Jones.
Then you have assets with value to build your team.
Also I still see it as Irving, D Will ahead of Barnes
3 pgs in the top 7

Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 5
^^ I don't see what being non N.American or not has anything to do with it. It all comes down to the quality of the prospect himself compared to all the other prospects in this draft, irrespective of how other players (whose only common trait is that they're not from this continent) have done in previous years. I would love to draft a good young prospect like Gallinari/Rubio/Ibaka/Batum/Beaubois in this draft (and they've just been in the last two years).

I don't think Dwill falls to 4. Also I'd be pretty upset if we drafted Kemba or Tjones at 4.

I don't see why your hating on the Euro's. Their better than the American bigs with maybe the exception of Henson. But I'd take Kanter and Val over Kemba and Tjones at this point. And I'm not even too keen on Val.

I don't understand Chad Ford talking about Barnes having a tournament worthy of a #1 pick and comparing him to Williams. 21ppg on 19 shots while not creating much himself sounds like a #1 pick
If Barnes goes top 2 it's Marvin Williams all over again

It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

You're making shortsighted assumptions as much as Ford so I'm not sure what you're mad about.
Outside of Irving almost every prospect has question marks surrounding them. Tweeners, undersized, unpolished, haven't played in ages, older players, etc.
I think it's pretty much BS when anyone talks in absolutes in this draft.
When you say "Marvin Williams all over again" that means you see CP or Deron calibre players behind Barnes in this draft. I'd love to know who you think have that kind of calibre.
