was really rooting for vcu to make it. that would have been an awesome storyline.

i am torn between uconn and kentucky. i hate kentucky. i hate their one-done mentality to recruiting players. i hate calipari and think he is a blight on college hoops. HOWEVER, if kentucky beats uconn my dad wins my office NCAA pool.

at worst i hope knight, walker and this overrated terrence jones kid show me they belong on the bobcats next year.

I think that Walker Vs Knight will be a non-event and Terrence Jones is about to make a serious name for himself.

Agree with Fats though, Calipari is knob butter - but I'm all about Team Fats Sr................so: GO KENTUCKY!!!

It's such a shame that a guy like Matt Howard will never be an NBA player.

look at that, my boy jones with a 3pter, a steal, a missed layup, an offensive rebound and putpack for 5 quick points.

jones just had one of the sadest looking post moves ive seen in a long time. i take it thats not one of his strengths. is he supposed to be a sf or pf?

fatlever wrote:OK - so both hendo and burks arent current NBA 3pt threats. they have that in commmon. but from what else i have read about him, the other parts of their games dont seem to be too similar. regardless, i think i like what i have read about him much more than many others in that same range.

as for 3pt shooting - its not a big deal of a shooting guard doesnt have 3pt range coming out of college. i can think of dozens and dozens of 1st round guards/wings over the years who didnt develop that shot until 2-3 years into their pro career. defense and 3pt shooting is often the last thing young players develop. as long as his mechanics are sound, there is no reason to think he couldnt greatly improve that area.

what i like about his scouting report is
- iso ability
- unselfish
- ballhandling
- passing
- aggressive
- gets to ft line

these are all areas that our team could use more help with.

Agreed. I just personally would rather see a guy who can hit the 3 off the bench for Hendo. That's why i said I could live the the kid, but if I was drafting it wouldn't be exactly what I was looking for. And your right, the 3 point shot is normally the last to come. Who knows, maybe Hendo will develope that soon here...it would be a huge asset for him.

Slam-- i agree with you completely about Hendo. He would be the PERFECT SF if only he was a little bigger.

I'd call it neck and neck...so far. Kemba's having a hard time shooting over Lamb and Knight's length though.

Walker has moved up to like 5th in ESPN's mock lottery draft...that stinks.

Knight had a TERRIBLE shooting knight, Jack-esk. Took so many shots he still managed 17 shots. Obviously Kemba had the more effective night, but they were close between the two of them. I don't like how Knight seems to be a bit one dimensional. He just keeps taking outside shots even when its not working, he doesn't try to drive. Reminds me too much of Jack...

I still really like Jordan Hamilton and it seems he is moving up closer to our first pick. Would there be a lot of complaints if we took him with our first pick then looked at a scoring G with our 2nd pick?

After watching tonight's games:

Walker = Monta Ellis floor. He is going to contribute right away and has that "I'm a NBA star" feel. We cannot pass on this guy, he is exactly what we need.

Knight = Chauncey Billups ceiling- probably won't blossom right away and doesn't have natural scoring ability like Kemba but will be solid and will be a starter for a while because of size and defense. If Walker is gone I'd consider him even though we have DJ and Shaun

Jones = reminds me of Derrick Brown, its really hard for a player like him to take it to the next level in the NBA and his lack of offensive IQ will hurt him like Brown. Don't want this player, but if he's there by the Hornets pick I'd consider it.

Mack = I think he is going to a great 6th man. I'd DEFINITELY take him at 20 if we didn't go Walker at 9. Most impressive of the day for me

Skeen = Impressive performance and his post skills are great but I think someone will reach for this guy because of this tourney run. Although he did show good range today and if he is somehow still there with our 2nd round pick we take him because he is a local product.

i like jones but he looks slow and spends half his time standing around the 3 point line looking for the ball....this cant be their offense?

He's TJ Ford with a "slightly" better jump shot.

Hope which ever foolish top 5 team that takes him enjoys him shooting them out of games.

Terrence Jones was the ONLY legit NBA star on the court tonight.

One of these days one of "your boys" will be successful in the NBA. One of these days.

If we ever draft someone, I really really hope it is someone with range. We really lack players, who are competitive and are able to shed the floor. Jackson, Diaw and DJA aren't enough.
