don`t compare Rondo`s d with Walker`s, Rondo is a pass first pg,Walker is a scorer, and don`t compare our defensive system with Boston`s...

Ohhhhhh so now its not the player its the system. Gotcha

I should say don't compare our defense with Kemba to our defense without him... lol

Rondo is 6,1"; Walker is 5,10".

Do people not realize that Walker is a downgrade from both Calderon and Bayless. I'm not sure how winning 21 games and netting a back-up PG is desirable. I realize that the majority of this board is infatuated with shiny new PGs, but honestly, get a grip on reality.

Edit: And Rubio is worse than Walker.

Where is he listed at 5"10? draft express has him at 6'0 and wiki has him at 6'1. I have yet to see a 5'10 listing. Also Damon was 5'10. It has less to do about the measurements and more about the drive of the individual

he`s probably a upgrade over jose but i agree with your post..i did not wanted us an entire season to lose so that i end up with walker..i rather have Alec Burks rather then Kemba..but all this discussions will end after we win the lottery..

Keep in mind this draft probably won't yield a single player that will help us build on our 21 win season. Its a bad year dude.

I don't know if he'll be steal just because I think he's going to cement himself as a top 3-5 guy right away. I think he makes the Tyreke leap.

I could especially see Minnesota being interested. He's a great fit for them

With his athleticism and ability to create both for himself and others, I'll be surprised if he becomes a bust

Yeah, I feel like they're grasping for a comparison. They want to compare him to a top level European player, but there are probably much better NBA comparisons. Everything they have said about the guy sounds anti-Gasol to me.

At this point he's a hustle/ energy player.......which Gasol obviously is not.....

He hasn't played much in the public eye and I think it would have helped him so teams can get an idea where he is currently at right now.

Walker would be a terrible pick with a top 5 selection. Again does he look good against slower less athletic NCAA players? Yes, compared to his peers he is faster. That will not translate to the NBA that is run by athletic beasts. His quickness will be minimized, he looks fast now yes, but will he look as fast when hes being guarded by the likes of Rose or Rondo? They are quicker, longer, far more athletic. Imagine Kemba being posted up by the likes of a Jason Kidd ,Deron Williams, or Westbrook? How in the world do people want the Raptors to improve on defense, when they are going to select an ultra short skinny point guard with no exceptional athleticism or length, to guard NBA point guards?

I said this once and I will keep saying it, the Raptors need to avoid Kemba Walker and go with Knight if they are drafting a pointguard. Walker is a great NCAA player, but he will not be an impact NBA player. When he had the more athletic Liggins guarding him, his shot was neutralized, how is he going to fare against the super athletic NBA players guarding him every day? How is he going to guard the bigger , stronger , and quicker guards of the NBA? If the Raptors have problems with defense now, selecting walker will only make them worse. Brandon Knight has far more potential to be a two way impact player than Kemba Walker ever will. Brandon Knight has the body, IQ , work ethic, natural talent that will make him a success in the NBA. When you draft, you look at what a player can become down the line. Knight has the build to become a solid two way player in the NBA. Kemba Walker will never be a defensive presence because of his size, how does this help the Raptors in the future? Is having a defensive liability at PG for the next 5+ years what some people want? Again people are enamoured with an offensive players who puts up numbers, but yet they complain about the Raptors being terrible defenders. Selecting Kemba Walker as the pointguard of the future will not improve Raptors defense whatsoever , and the defensive woes of this team will continue.

In terms of Knight vs Walker, its Knight by a mile and a half. Knight has all the physical tools to become a solid two way player who can be a lock down defender with his length and athleticism , while being a solid distributor. He is an 18 year old freshman that led a far weaker Kentucky team than John Wall's to the final four. That is a monumental accomplishment in itself. Between Knight and Walker, if I am a GM drafting for the future, its not even close between the two. An 18 year old phenomenon versus a guy who took 3 years to establish himself in the NCAA, you take the 18 year old. That is what the draft is about, and Knight's peak is far far far higher than Walkers.

Jonas Valanciunas reminds me of Andris Biedrins but with good free throw shooting. I don't think he exceeds that, and he hasn't shown that he will, and it might even take him a couple of years to get to that level as he is not physically matured yet. But do you take him with such a high pick?

This draft sucks major balls. I seriously hope the Raptors luck out and somehow get Irving.

Agree, Knight >> Walker for the next level

Here'd be a great draft for me: Knight is projected around 10th, so we trade our #4 or #5 for Charlotte's #10 and #16. Take Knight at 10 and Hamilton at 16, who I think is 95% of the prospect Barnes is as a 3pt shooting defender at the next level. Knight, Demar, Hamilton has great defensive potential. Athleticism, length, commitment. Nice offensive fit too

I don't even think he'd turn out to be Biedrins, tbh. I wouldn't touch JV with our pick can you imagine a front court of him and Bargs? That would be just awful the league would laugh at us..
