I would love Kanter as well...He has inside and mid range game. His footwork is very good also. He would fit the system perfectly. I dont see what Fields brings that Walker doesn't. Walker isn't a huge downgrade from Landry, so i would be ok with Walker filling in his spot if we did trade fields.

But does fields have enough Value to net us the 5th overall pick? Highly doubt it..Would have to trade Fields with our pick. I'm not too sure if its worth moving up 10 spots and lose Landry. But if we can somehow keep our pick and get the 5th i would be 100% down for that. Kanter + somone would be great.

Biyombo stands out immediately when he walks into the gym. He sports a chiseled frame (measured 4.8 % body fat) with broad shoulders and an incredible 7'7” wingspan, and as we saw during some of the brief 5 on 5 sessions, he has an outstanding motor, which makes him a terror on the glass and on the defensive end. He also looks to be a very mature player with a great attitude, often seen encouraging teammates, talking with the coaching staff, and helping others with instructions. The experience he's garnered seeing heavy minutes in the top league in the world outside the NBA—the Spanish ACB--over the past few months was very evident.

Lucas also has a ridiculous 7'6” wingspan, and he runs the floor like a deer, but he's still fairly thin, as expected from an 18 year old 7-footer. He showed great mobility and shot-blocking ability yesterday, and he'll be a guy scouts will be keeping a close eye on over the next few days to see just how far along he is in his development.

(yes ironic the picture) but I think what Kanter offers that you really won't find elsewhere is the size, strength and skills to contribute right away as well as some serious upside where he could turn into the type of force that people said Cousins can. Unlike Cousins, Kanter doesn't appear to be a borderline nutjob.

'
kanter's also the guy that i was thinking about. i think he might be exactly what we need. a classic back to the basket presence every team needs for anyone to take them seriously.

In terms of potential...Perry Jones IMO. I think he has the highest ceiling in this draft based on his height/length/athleticism alone. Dude is 6'10 /6'11 and has lebron james type athleticism. He isnt just a leaper, but he is quick and agilie too to go along with his hops. He is a bit raw, but the potential is there, and even if he doesnt reach his full potential, he will still have a heck of a career.

It all depends on the draft workouts. Hes probably to risky for the #1 pick though, Kyrie is the safer pick. Just trying to go against he consensus i guess lol.

i think so too. i think after the combine, he'll be the closest to a lock as can be in this draft.

DraftExpress: Lucas Nogueira really struggling. Looks out of place, getting outhustled by Biyombo. Extremely raw on both ends of floor. Long-term project.

Damn. My man Lucas def doesnt seem ready for the NBA. Not strong or polished enough. Hes probably further away than I anticipated.

Im really liking Biyombo more and more, if thats possible. He doesnt have much to go physically like Lucas does. Hes already built like Fort Knox with the wingspan of vulture. Not to mention his motor is supposedly non stop, which means at the very least he should be a good defensive/rebounding energy player soon. Theres just no way he doesnt go lotto IMO if guys keep pulling out.

I wouldnt be surprised if we traded the pick for a proven player tho, namely a big man who isnt getting much run. The pressure to win now means our patience is thin. I highly doubt we pick a project. Dantoni is no Doug Collins and Amare's knees aint getting any younger. Thats the reality we're in Im afraid.

Justin Harper and the Morris twins have Dantoni stamped all over em.

you know what, the more I think about it the more I think having an nba ready physique might be more important after all. pf and c are physical positions in the nba, unlike the guard positions or sf, where durant was able to get away with not being able to bench 185 lbs once. strength is important in not being backed down in the post, and to be able to box out for rebounds. if saer sene or thabeet were stronger they'd probably be dominant players. what we saw when sene was here though, was that he got pushed around a lot. what was good about mozgov was that he was already pretty strong.

tl;dr: I'm on board the bismarck bimbo bandwagon

Did anybody here watch enough of Richmond's Justin Harper to have an opinion on him? Hahn likened him to Wilson Chandler a couple of weeks ago, and said the Knicks could really use someone like that from the bench.

Candidate for a bought late first rounder?

Im of the same opinion as DX in that hell be one of the guys whose draft stock will start rising as NBA teams start bringing him in for workouts (assuming there will be workouts with the lockout looming).

Harpers biggest knock has been that the intensity doesnt match his really intriguing physical package and abundant offensive skills. This year i think hes really stepped that part of his game up. He still may not have the type of alpha male persona or top shelf intensity to be an All Star but I think he can definitely make an noticeable impact beyond just journeymen status. In this system he can be a mismatch nightmare and extend/space the floor for Stoudemire and Melo with his ability to shoot from anywhere on the floor. While jis defense and rebounding are not consistent its mot for the lack of physical capacity. Hes added muscle and size through the years and his frame i think can actually handle another 15 pounds or so. So the potential is there. For me the guy that the Knicks pick has to be able to contribute now and needs to have some good upside. Harper is one of those guys that can offer both.

How about Nolan Smith or Faried with our pick?

Nolan Smith is really more of a combo guard than a pure point. With Douglas here it's kinda pointless (pardon the pun). Faried is interesting but you really would have to be sure that from a rebounding standpoint he is just unearthly cause he will not offer much of anything in the way of offense. He's also pretty much a PF that you can probably play some at SF depending on the matchup but not an NBA C so there's always the positional issue (as in not really needing a combo forward at this point).

Nolan might be the most talented guard available when we pick. Yes, he's more of a combo, but he could develop into a nice NBA PG, imo. Plus, he seems to be very sound defensively.

Faried seems to be one of those rare beasts that have some sort of natural affinity to attract rebounds. Seems very athletic, strong, and quick. Might be the second coming of Rodman, or might be something much less, but I can't help but be intrigued. We could always play Faried and Amare for stretches with Faried guarding whoever is the scorer on the other team.

Both of these guys intrigue me...

Biyombo is all over the place. HELL of an athlete, great speed, great jumper, VERY active, AND he goes after the rebounds.

We NEED him. He's an animal.

Biyombo is a BEAST.

He has 5 blocks in the 2nd half alone. He's probably lotto bound now, which sucks for us.
