Van Persie interview
Didn't embed because you have to watch it in youtube to press the CC button for the subtitles.

The EPL goals are removed for copyright, here they are:

Goal is at 1:02

The story cut off at the end is apparently that Edu wouldn't take his penalty because he'd already signed with another club and didn't want to have his last touch at Arsenal be losing a final.

He also owns the Colorado Avalanche, they're pretty good. Evens out?

Robin van Persie and Abou Diaby were involved in a half-time bust-up during Arsenal's win over Blackpool on Sunday. The pair had a blazing dressing room row at Bloomfield Road after the France midfielder picked up a needless booking for kicking the ball.

Having already received a dressing down from Cesc Fabregas on the field, Diaby then got it in the ear from Van Persie who was furious the midfielder had picked a needless booking.
Van Persie was angry at the his team-mate's lack of indiscipline and felt the booking could easily have cost his side later in the game.

You would have thought Diaby would have learned after Newcastle, but I guess not. The few good games Diaby has played this season have been marred by stupid bookings like those.

Kind of surprised RVP and Diaby weren't both injured during the blazing row, though.

Djourou is back in full training, he and Szczesney could play this weekend against Liverpool.

Aside from Vermaelen, we'd have our first team. How long since that happened?

latter four could be from youth reserves if good enough.

Wojciech Szczesny intends to make his return from a finger injury in the Premier League fixture against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Arsenal goalkeeper, who suffered a dislocation and tendon damage in the Champions League defeat at Barcelona on 8 March, underwent a scan last week, which was positive, and he believes he is ready to fill the manager Arsène Wenger's problem position.

Arsenal's defence could enjoy another tonic with the return of the central defender Johan Djourou. The Switzerland international dislocated his shoulder in the FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Manchester United on 12 March and Wenger said his season looked to be over. But the damage was not as serious as initially feared, Djourou did not require surgery and he is now back in training.

It's from the Guardian, but I'm hopeful
Szczesney should be fine as long as his finger is healed. He's still been training, it's just one finger.

I'd prefer to see Bendtner go then Chamakh, or both really. They're similar players, Chamakh is further along now, Bendtner has more potential, but his attitude sucks.

Cahill will most likely end up at Man City, I think. They need to replace Lescott, and Kolo isn't getting younger either. We won't be able to bid with them.

The only players coming up from reserves, I think, will be for sure Lansbury, Bartley, and one of Coquelin/Frimpong. JET or Vela might have a shot, but I'd prefer to sign someone like Kevin Gameiro who's much further along. Pedro Botelho might, if he's granted a work permit, he should be this year after 4 years in Spain. He's played really well this year and can play as a LB or as a winger.

Realistically, I think we'll sign a midfielder, a winger, and a right-back (there's no one close in the academy), maybe a CB, but I doubt it. Wenger will probably roll with Vermaelan, Djourou, Koscielny, Bartley, and Squillaci as an emergency play.

For RB, we've apparently come to terms with 18 yr. old Carl Jenkinson, from Charlton, who can also play at CB. He looks very raw though, so I'm still hoping we'll sign Sime Vrsaljko, who looks like he'll become a world-class RB.

Gameiro's 5'7, so fits the bill. There's a chance Vermaelen never returns :( and so I'd want Cahill, although to be fair what I really want is a ruthless leader who talks and holds guys accountable. Don't know if Cahill's anything like that but it's easy to project your desires onto whatever's on the other side of the fence.
Getting Cahill and Torres would be on the assumption that Kronke puts money in for them (>$15m) which I think would benefit the club even if we maintained a long-term plan of bringing up youth in the majority of cases.

If Vermaelan can't play than we'll have to sign a CB. I like Cahill, but his inflated price makes me think Wenger won't go for it.

I like Gameiro because he's so different than our current strikers. He is small, fast, and a good finisher. Similar to Eduardo in his ability to finish, and find/exploit space. Bendtner and Chamakh are too similar to be useful, especially since neither are great finishers.
