Fort Washington? As in Washington Heights? I think you probably mean Dominican food. Most of the Latin joints up there are Dominican spots. It's not that different from Cuban food though. Subtle differences...

Nah Dynastia is Cuban and Chinese. I asked about it and people were saying something about a small contingent of Chinese folks in Cuba and that's why these asian cats make some SLAMMIN' spanish dishes.

There's Chinese/Dominican and Chinese/PR spots in the city too. The Chinese/Latin Caribben mix is a wonderful mix.

I'm partial to any Deli/Bodega type place that can make a Panini. I would look into Muscle Maker Grill, they opened up all over the place over the past few months. I had one on the first one of my old job, clutch.

Never knew that. I was pretty shocked to be eating straight up spanish food with Fried Rice on the side. The mix is definitely no joke.

Do you work by the Hospital (Columbia-Pres)? There's all kinds of restaurants around there now.

That's where I work actually. You walk up to Broadway and it's nothing but restaurants.

I'm pretty familiar with that area. Was an old stomping grounds. I bring that up because there's a lot more variety there now. Before it used to be just Latin spots, pizza, fast food, etc. As a matter of fact I remember at one point even going further back that the McD's and wendy's were the only options around there to get something to eat. At one point that was also the only McD's in that part of Manhattan.

Yeah, I've worked there for about 5 years now and it seems like new places pop up all the time. Now if only they could get a Taco Bell and a Quiznos I'll be truly happy. When I first started it was McDonalds and Wendys every other day...though there was already a good variety, I just didn't know the area well enough to try stuff.

Edit: lol, your edit just said exactly what I'm saying here.

There are chinese dives on 8th avenue in the 50's where you can go in and pick any 3 to 5 things from a gigantic counter and which they pile on rice for 4 bucks. For those not familiar with "authetic" chinese food, about 80% of the stuff most americans can't recognize (and probably won't want to know what it is). Great food. The only thing is they have no line and is always packed so you have to fight a whole bunch of chinese garment workers to get to the front and get your food.

Dominican/Puerto-Rican/Colombian cuisine are all excellent for the hangover...just make sure to barf before you eat or you'll feel like the meal was a waste.

NYC has such crazy cheap food. I must have gained 20lbs over 5 years there just because of that. There was a place where I lived in Brooklyn called "Happy Dumpling" where you could get 6 dumplings for 1.50 with Siracha and Soy souce.

OT: Do u think hardcore XXX Pornography is bad 4 ur health?

Post#300 » by Kashy_Tigray » Sat Apr 16, 2011 12:00 am

That's what doctors say, it gives you dysfunctional relationships with women. And pornographic images get stuck in your head. Perhaps excessive masturbation...unfulfilled sexual fanatasies (that will probably never become true).

Or...

Is it a stress reliever? Good for people not getting "any" / couples looking for ways to experiment in the bedroom, etc.

Where do you stand on this subject?
