He attempted more free throws than field goal attempts.

I never thought I would see that.

Dallas needs game 2 as well.

Good effort.

Yes. But he needs to cut down on his stupid turnovers. One time he just threw the ball right to the chest of Gerald Wallace. Jeez. I did a facepalm right then, pronto.

if we continue to play like this, we wont win another game. our coach is clueless and its terrible, we got 6'1 jeep being posting up by 6'8 batum, just mismatch nightmares everywhere and he continue to play these small crummy backcourts, then goes to a barea, terry, peja, dirk, haywood combo in the 4th. never thought id see all our worst defenders in the game at one time.

Jason Kidd was simply AMAZING tonight! Dirk was LIGHTS OFF during the 4th! I loved when J-kidd hit that three and it seemed like Dirk felt like he actually had a Robin with him. I hope other people play up to Jason Kidd's level in the upcoming games.

P.S. I hope there is a KIDDIRK POG!!!

That's obvious, but I've already made my mind up to Rick doing this and us not getting pass the 2nd (may be even 1st) round. Hopefully Donnie fires RC after this season, even if the most unbelievable miracle happens and we win it all.

Some concerns for me from the Mavs:

Tyson Chandler - 1 shot for 2 pts??? He needs to step up and make plays. Yes, Dallas were shooting well in the 1st half, but over the 2nd half, we had like 0 points in the paint. He needs to get LMA in fould trouble early. Maybe RC didint draw up plays for him....I also thought that Marion had an unsually off game, although he did contain Gerald Wallace well.

I think the combined mins of Barea and Peja of 38 was way too much. They scored just 10 pts on 3/14 FGs, with 2 rebs and 1 ast. Barea got burned by Andre Miller big time, and Peja gave away easy baskets to Batum, LMA and the foul on Rudy for the And One was awful.

Obviously, Pejas 2 three pointers to start the 2nd qtr were great, but other than that, he didnt contribute alot, hes not atheltic enough to keep up with Batum, Rudy, Roy, Wallace, LMA. I hope RC doesnt rely on just Terry, Barea and Peja all series, because up until the 4th qtr, those three guys were ineffective, until Terry started hitting FTs.

I honestly think, like Cuban said, that Brewer can do some much more, and brings energy, which is what we will need in Game 2, and at the Rose Garden.

Surprisingly good game by Kidd. And Dirk was a beast in the 4th. RC's rotations were horrible like always...
This will def be a tough series. If Mavs want to win they need to learn how to defend the alley-oop pass better. Also, I think someone from our backcourt needs to step up each game and score 20+ for us to win.
The Ball movement was horrible at times (only 14 assists and went almost 12 min without a FG). We need to get our bigs more involved offensively.
There were a few non-calls on Dirk, but overall Portland defended him well.
I'm sticking to my original prediction - Mavs in 6 8-)

Carlisle went to a smaller back court for offense, not defense, and yeah, your right, it completely crapped out on him and the Mavs lost the lead in the 3rd because of it.

McMillan decided to double Dirk and Marion and leave Terry and Kidd open and it we got the biggest shock over our lives when Kidd hit shot after shot and Terry got foul after foul.

Peja had a lucky bounce in the 1st on a 3 and scored 6 damn points. Carlisle figures he spreads the floor but I can't stand seeing him on the floor. I guess he doesn't turn the ball over. If that's all he's good for then the Mavs have serious problems.

Trix (as Dirk calls him) was the biggest reason for the win 'cause he held Wallace to 0 points in the first half.  What a great trade for the Blazers!

All in all, it was a surprising win to me, because the team usually blows these games when Kidd shoots his usual 1-7 from the field. Props to him and keep it up Jason!

It was shocking for me to see Terry drive to the basket time after time.

marion was big defensively, even had a good defensive possession on the strip of lma, and i dont mind peja playing, my problem is, if your going to play him, u have to hide him on defense like they do dirk, so when u put him beside terry, and barea its an epic failure. when he plays, it needs to be with say kidd, brewer, peja, marion, haywood or chandler

Dude we didn't even play 2 PO games yet and your talking about us not getting past the second round.

Just enjoy the games. It doesn't matter if we win. You watch and enjoy the basketball.

If we win we win if we don't oh well.
