Portland Trades

2013 Indiana 1st
- use part of $6.6m Warrick/Tolliver TPE

Utah Trades

- Kenneth Faried - $993,700
- Matt Carroll - $3,900,000

Why for Portland? We won't have cap space for a few years, so adding the next two years of Carroll isn't an issue.

The main reason for this trade is Faried, he's the perfect backup big for me, 14.5 rebounds, 2.3 blocks in college (as well as 17.3 points). Fits nicely with the floor spacing of Freeland as part of my second unit.

Utah accepts, we get out of the next year of carroll's deal. The 2013 Ind 1st will likely yield someone just as good as Faried as well.

The Kings waive Earl Boykins and Von Wafer.

The Kings and Jazz agree to a deal.

Kings send: Bismark Biyombo = $2,202,900
Jazz send: Rodrigue Beaubois + Christian Eyenga = $2,334,240

This was probably the hardest player for the Kings to part with thus far. On paper, Bismark Biyombo looked unreal. But that's on paper and with someone as raw as him who has never played an NBA game yet--you just can never tell. We preferred the incoming talent from a spectacular young pg in Roddy. Beaubois' athleticism and fearlessness to attack the basket is just what we want at the one spot going forward. And not to mention the "gem" in this deal, Eyenga, who is a freaky athlete in his own right. He' another raw guy that we think would fit in perfect on our young team and can mesh and go through the growing pains of learning the game with many opportunities to play on a rebuilding team.

Utah accepts

This is a huge risk, but Biyombo has a chance to be very special. With Biyombo, Seraphin, and Nogueira on my team; I'm hoping one of these 3 high risk/high reward players will pan out and team with Favors to form a dynamic front court

Suns Trade: Sonny Weems($854,389)
Raptors Trade: AJ Price($884,239)

Eh...lol Weems is pry a bit better of a player, and we feel comfortable enough with Holiday/Ridnour and JJ being able to play the point.

PHX accepts. We have way too many medeocre wings and only have one backup PG. This gives us some more depth there.

Portland and Utah have agreed a minor trade.

Portland Trades

Quincy Pondexter - $1,153,800

Utah Trades

2012 UTA 2nd

Why for Portland? We feel Quincy can be a good player one day, but he'll have no opportunity stuck as 4th string on my depth chart. The Utah 2nd will allow us to add a role player in a position of need next year.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

The Kings and Magic agree to a deal

The Kings send: Julian Wright + Jerel McNeal + Derrick Brown = $3,758,778
The Magic send: Marvin Williams = $8,050,000

The Kings are happy to add Marvin. We believe he's still young enough at 25, to get better. He will get the opportunity to push Trevor Ariza for a starting spot and/or play major minutes each game. The Kings needed to add more talent to its young squad and Marv is just what the doctor ordered. We'd also like to think that him playing close to his hometown of Seattle will also add to his improvement on the court.

Memphis and Phoenix have agreed to a trade:

To Memphis: Kenyon Martin ($2,000,000)
Ronny Turiaf ($3,000,000)

Total: 5,000,000

To Phoenix: Brandon Bass ($4,000,000)

Total: 4,000,000 * 1.25 = 5,000,000 + 100,000 = 5,100,000

Deal works

PHX accepts. We prefer Bass to either of Turiaf or Kmart, so we feel we got the best player in this deal. We had too many bigs that needed playing time, and this cuts our 3 bigs on the bench to 2.

Memphis accepts. Two solid big men for the price of one.

The Grizz and PHX have agreed to another trade:

Memphis will send:

Raja Bell [3,000,000]
Troy Murphy [2,000,000]
Total: 5.0 Million

Phoenix will send:

Mike Miller: [5,400,000]

Deal works.

We're excited to bring Mike back to Memphis. We're confident that he can regain his shooting form after suffering a series of injuries last season. Nice dealing!

PHX accepts. Bell and miller are shooting the ball at the same %, and bell is the far better defender, so I feel I win there. Murphy is a soild backup big that can also hit the three. I also save some money long term.

Toronto and Orlando have a trade:

Toronto sends: Erick Dampier($854,389) + Shelden Williams($854,389) = $1,708,778 x 1.25 = $2,135,972

Orlando sends: Anthony Tolliver($2,050,000)

Toronto accepts, we like Tolliver as a solid bench player. Hustles, rebounds, hits the 3, and is a good team defender.
