I'd much rather have Biyombo, hes a better shot blocker, more athletic, probably longer, thicker, stronger, gives more effort, and probably a better rebounder. The thing with Biyombo is he doesn't look clueless on either side of the ball, which is impressive for a guy who just started playing, val on the other hand sometimes look like andrea with effort, thats the thing that scares me.

I don't think that's true at all. I've watched about 10 Rytas games, I've never seen him take a single play off.

Yes that is why I said bargnani with EFFORT. He gives effort but looks lost at times.

Yup, I agree. I am on BB, and I think Val will drop.
We can draft Walker and trade down for BB + another pick (maybe Val will be there).

I’m told by impeccable sources that the Raptors did manage to meet with a handful of possible draft picks over the two days as they get down to figuring this out in earnest.

Who?

Well, the list I got had:

Derrick Williams

Klay Thompson

Brandon Knight

Kemba Walker

Kawhi Leonard

Alec Burks

The twins Markus and Markieff Morris.

Now, these were chats after watching some of them work out and there’s been no consensus developed, no firm “list” drawn up and it’s still relatively early in the process.

If Derrick Williams sat down with BC, does that mean his agent believed the Raps were talking to Minnesota about #2?

He's got terrific handles but his shooting stroke is how shall I say... questionable?

He'd be someone I'd consider but he would have to WOW me in the workouts. He has Brandon Roy handles and good size too

I wish but I have a feeling you're reading to much into it. They're just doing their homework.

BC is doing his homework nothing more than that you definitely want to take every opportunity to build a book on as many players as possible

Agreed. He's also apparently an absolutely terrfic athlete.

He's intriguing, but he doesn't really fill a need.

What I meant was, why would DWill talk to the Raps if he thought they were picking #5. Is he talking to everybody? That would be unusual for a top 2-3 lock.

Quincy Miller has quite the ego. Earl Anderson asked him what his work ethic is like and he replied "Better than yours..." 8-) We need a guy with attitude.

A lot of weird things could potentially happen on draft night to end up with that scenario, especially if some teams do some needs based drafting:

1. Kanter
2. Biyombo/Val
3. Kyrie
4. Knight/Walker
5. Williams?

1. Kyrie
2. Biyombo/Kanter
3. Knight/Walker
4. Kanter/Val
5. Williams?

Not likely, but who knows.

Would you take someone who's refusing to interview with us, but is willing to workout/interview with a team picking after us?

Yes, I would. Kanter has proven himself as a legitimate 7ft center. He has by far the most well rounded game of the bigs. He'll learn to love Toronto like Ed Davis did. BC is great at working these things out.

This is why the time before the draft is so much fun. Don't mind if Kanter is our pick but he measured at the combine at 6 9.75. He's grown like mad since last week and now is a legitimate 7 ft center apparently. All in under a week. I focus more on wingspan, standing reach and reach with hops much more than height but isn't it amazing how favourites grow? 6 9.75 is 6 9.75 is 6 9.75. Put all the shoes on him you like and stretch him on the rack and spin it like crazy but he's (wait for it) 6 9.75.

Yeah, actually he's 6'11.25'' in shoes.

Put it any way you want, but basketball players play in shoes in shoes in shoes. Basketball players play in (wait for it) shoes.

I'm sorry but QMiller trumps every other SF in this draft!

You're looking at the closest thing to Kevin Durant...

I love Gilchrist commitment to D but he doesn't have Pippen's length or height....and you don't pass up on an animal like Miller who looks like a legitmate franchise talent.

Quincy is pretty impressive as well, looks like we have a glut of SF's to choose from next year, I don't know for me i'd want a SF who can play both defence and offence since we don't have the greatest defenders in the backcourt (Demar/Bayless)
Masai's to do list

I just don't see BC getting the greenlight on a "wait till 2013" player. Not with his leash

There's a crapton on pressure on everyone in the lottery to get a rookie who plays immediately, who sells tickets, who proves themselves so the GM can start constructing the team. When you get to the Warriors, Pacers, Sixers, etc. those teams need a guy who can get them to the playoffs

I'm sticking with my prediction that Valanciunas gets picked at #18 to Washington. Washington has no pressure to win immediately and a top 6 pick like Vesely or Leonard out this draft. They want to give McGee more minutes at C. The 18 pick was really just a luxury. That's who I see buying on this Valanciunas 2013+ roulette roll

I can honestly see Cleveland picking him at #4.

With Irving, they'd be able to sell tickets and would be able to take a high risk/high reward prospect like Val, due to the fact that Irving seems to be such a sure thing.

Burks looks so smooth. He needs to bulk up, but he can become very, very good with his length and skillset.

No way Valanciunas drops to 18. There are reports that teams like Cleveland, Toronto and Detroit are very high on him, and you expect him to drop all the way to 18? Someone's going to get a second pick before they let that happen.

yeah, there's no chance Val falls out of the lottery--and that's even if he can't come over right away.
