How's about a deal like Iguodala for Mayo and someone?

we would trade mayo to lower salary not to increase it.
the word is that mayo is going to be traded to make money for resign Gasol. Battier is a free agent.

If you want to lower salary, what do you think of capspace (Bulls have nonguaranteed contracts that could be cut immediately) and 2 late first rounders from 2011 plus the Bobcats' pick? Bobcats pick goes as follows:
2012 - Top 14 Protected
2013 - Top 12 Protected
2014 - Top 10 Protected
2015 - Top 8 Protected
2016 - Unprotected

Charlotte, having traded away Gerald Wallace, is looking pretty poor. Their pick could be a late lotto pick in 2012 or 2013 or potentially a very high lotto pick in 2015 or 2016 if MJ continues running that franchise badly.

Mayo for capspace and three 1st rounders, one of which could be quite high.

Thoughts? Not just your personal preference, but your thoughts about the Grizzlies' front office and their likely attitude?

Memphis would absolutely pull the trigger on that kind of deal. Hypothetically and in reality. Unfortunately we'd lose lilojmayo in that transaction. :(

Our main goals this offseason must be: 1a. Keep Marc 1b. Keep lilojmayo.

I think Conley’s a great PG but I think this last series would’ve gone differently if they had Nash running the offense and Memphis has enough defenders to mask/alleviate Nash’s defensive shortcomings… he’s coming off another great year stats wise and I think he can carry on at this level for another 2 years.

Sure! Conley and OJ for a Nash 1 year rental. :D
Seriously though, I would be torn on a deal like this; I know there are plenty of Memphis fans who wouldn't do this (because Conley's impact on the team's offense is understated statistically and he's still very young). But hey, I think Nash could be good enough to put Memphis into the finals.

As a Suns fan, I would definatly think we could work something out. The Suns two main needs are a Power Forward and a shooting guard. Would the Grizzlies be interested in a deal like Darrell Arthur, OJ Mayo and Conley for Nash and Hakim Warrick?

Nash and Warrick are a very good PnR combination that could work very well if they are surrounded by spotr up shooters. That will give you another element to your offence.

 hakim warrick back to memphis? I rather take a gamble on Gani Lawal since that's who I wanted to draft at #30 last year anyway. But that's the homer in me.

conley is too important to our young core to risk for old man Nash. and same problem - how do you have money for nash and MGasol?

Any Deal involving Chicago and Memphis is a non starter for our owner. There is some animosity between him and the Chicago owner and he has quashed every proposed deal involving Chicago. The Heat is real and our owner actually lives in Chicago and use to be a season ticket holder. He actually makes deals with owners he likes. Chicago had the better deal on the table for Pau Gasol and he choose the inferior deal with the Lakers. Trade deadline this season, Chicago offered a much better deal for OJ Mayo including multiple picks and he turned it down for the Indiana deal which now looks very crazy, as expected Mayo's value has increased greatly with the playoff run and his performance in the OK City series. If Juices is traded for a pick in this years draft he would have to be top ten, or a pick in the teens and a player still on his rookie deal like Toney Douglas in New York.

That's not how I remember it. I thought Chicago shot down the deal of Pau Gasol for Tyrus Thomas and/or Nocioni and change before the Lakers trade. I thought they pulled out and he got mad and took the Lakers deal. :-? I just read some of the old rumors about the Gasol Bulls trade in 2006 and they come from the criminally incompetent Sam Smith. The same guy starting false rumors about trade of Rudy Gay currently!

I dont' think it's that he makes deals with owners he likes - it's that they are the only ones that answer the phone. (Boston, Minnesota, Utah, NOLA, Houston, etc).

^True. Any deals with the Bulls that "fell through" are probably just the wild imaginings of Sam Smith. Guy is a fool.

I hate to see Morrow go, but I think I would have to do this.

O.J. is the better overall player, but Morrow isn't just a shooter he's an all time shooter.

Also O.J.'s cap hold could really get in the way of things in 2012.

IDK, I think I do this though while Mayo's value is still low.

Don't think his value will ever be super high, but probably will rebound higher then this.

Why would Mayo's value have gone up much?

For the most part he had a well below average playoffs.

He had about 4 good games out of 13, including a pretty good game seven, but the rest of the time he was blah and he didn't have one true standout game, his playoff high was 18 twice and one of them came on an awful shooting display.

Mayo was incredible on D and caused Thunder to change their game plan. He showed aspects of his game that people didn't entirely appreciate before this series. He really stepped up and showed he belongs.

What do you guys think of this article?
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?...#ixzz1MkM800Zu
Your owner says he won't give Gasol a ridiculous contract but what would you guys consider ridiculous? 15 mill per year or 12 mill per?

Also I wonder if you guys would be willing to do a sign and trade for Gasol and we give you guys Hibbert.

Roy's got some upside on a cheap-ass contract but the homer in me says Gasol 100% all the way, cost be damned. And I think Marc suits this team better as well anyway.

How about Ray Allen and a 1st for OJ Mayo and Xavier Henry.

Ray has a 1 year 10 mil contract. Now, I am not sure he would report, but Him with ZBo and Gasol getting doubled team is deadly.

Celtcs need athleticism and scoring. Griz could use a prolific shooting guard.

That's why you have to turn yourself off on Mayo!

Deadly? Are you serious?

Lock-up is coming up and having 36-year-old SG make Griz deadly?

Griz would be dead with this stupid dumb trade. Griz DECLINE!!!

I think Marc is the better player hence the trade idea but at what point do you guys think the current salaries are too much to pay. If there is a hard cap around 60 mill then you guys can't pay for Marc's long term contract.

DraftExpress Jonathan Givony

Heard Cleveland offered Memphis their #4 pick in exchange for Rudy Gay (w/help of their trade exception). Memphis rejected

If true, very interesting - shows Heisley's been truthful in regards to Rudy.
