MLB Draft 2011

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Mon Jun 6, 2011 3:06 pm

Tonight at 6:00 Central on MLB Network. Who will the great Jim Hendry take in the 1st round this year with the 9th pick? Last year he took a 21 year old pitcher that wasn't ranked in the top 100 and he's been pretty awful so far. I can't wait.

You're not going to believe this, but the Cubs have been linked to a guy no one else considers a top prospect.

Crazy insane rumor out there . . . #Cubs taking 23-year-old Cuban LHP Onelki Garcia Speck at 9. Good velo, good breaking ball.

Please, make a normal pick for once.

Cubs needed an impact player and ended up with yet another player who is a "might be". I wish the Cubs would simply stay away from HS players in the first rd, since their recent history (Patterson, Montanez, Harvey) suggests that Baez won't be worth much in five years.

Good point. At least it was someone projected to go round 1 this year.
