By the way Derrick Williams is soft as powerforward. He gets routinely manhandled by college powerforwards the way mcgee normally did until teh last quarter off the season. Derrick Williams is what he is. He isn't getting any better than what we see right now. A stretch 4 always has to play defense on the block where he becomes attacking point during clutch moments of the game. Just think a worse defensively on the block than jamison.
Derrick Williams idolized Michael Jordan--Not Tim Duncan or Shaq and his play oh the blocks shows it. He wants nothing to do with banging on the low blocks defensively.
I watched a TON of Arizona games this year, specifically to watch Williams. Yes, Williams struggles against some longer/bigger guys, notably Tristan Thompson. But, to say that Williams was routinely manhandled by collegiate PF's is total crap. Williams klled teams in the paint, not with a refined post game, but with strength, and length. How do you think he managed to get to the foul line so frequently?
And, how can you say Williams, "isn't going to get any better than what we see right now"? That is a ridiculous assertion. There is a lot that Williams can do to refine his game, and his body. What evidence you you have to present that suggests that Derrick Williams has peaked?
You have some good thoughts WizarDynasty, but other times, I am just left scratching my head.
