^^ The Bucks appear to be very high on him, he certainly fits a need as an athletic SG for them. I think the promise is from either them or the Bobcats.

CU's Alec Burks told @sam_amick that he's top 10. He has or will work out for teams at 4, 6, 8, 9, 11. Wonder if he'll keep 6/19 appt w/PHX.

He's not a defensive pylon, he was specifically told not to focus on defense at BYU, 'cause they needed him to be their offense. Look at the video clip above your post of his workout in Sacto. He's playing great "d" on Tobias Harris, who is 4 inches taller. He put up great athletic #'s at the combine, which means he has the ability to play defense.

I don't think people here can accept that kind of excuse.

Jimmer is a competitor. The guy openly stated in his Kings workout that he was willing and wanted to go up against the best guy and defend them. He ain't no Jose Calderon. I think you'll get average defense from him, and good to great offense. That's a solid player.

Plus he says his favourite player is John Stockton, the guy who averaged 14 assists in some seasons. I like a few prospects at this point.

When he's currently projected outside of the top 10 why wouldn't he call out guys above him?

He's got nothing to lose; everything to gain.

Confidence doesn't equal lateral quickness. Not saying he won't be average defensively but just because he has bravado doesn't mean he can defend.

Maybe. Just have to find out if he is or not when the season starts.

He seems to score really well in the lane agility drills, though.

If we're keeping the pick, at #5 I think it's probably Knight or bust now. I think acquiring an additional pick to select one of Val/Biyombo won't be too hard now, which I'm hoping we do. If Knight isn't there, I want to see us either trade the pick for a young player like Batum, or trade down with Washington and pick up Seraphin along with #6.

If the draft were today and Knight and Walker were still on the board is it a no-brainer the Raps take Knight? Is he at the top of the "realistic" board?

I'd take Jimmer over both, but yeah, Knight will most likely be picked ahead of Ooompah Loompah.

The fact he did that well in the combine, makes me wonder how bad can he be defensively?

Can we make Jose do the same drill for the purpose of comparison.

Yeah Fredette timed in at 10.42 in the lane agility test but that doesn't mean he is faster laterally in-game over everyone on this list:

Ty Lawson - 10.98
Rodrigue Beaubois - 10.49
Derrick Rose - 11.369
Russell Westbrook - 10.98
Eric Gordon - 10.81
Aaron Brooks - 10.57

To take a lane agility test as a barometer of his defensive quickness is short-sighted. You judge him based on his ability to stay in front of his man through all the hours of game tape on hand.

Surprised a lot of people here want Jimmer. I wouldn't say I'd be dissapointed in taking Jimmer if Irving, Williams, Knight, and Kanter round out the top 4, but I will say that I see nothing special in him. He lacks the break-down ability to be an impact 2 in this league, I can't see him being better than a Reddick. Can't comment much on his defense.

You worse then Kelly and BC if you are taking Freddete over Walker or Knight.... I would rather trade the pick then take Jimmer anywhere near the top 20. This team needs a potential game changer, leader, someone who can create his own shot, someone with an edge, someone who has allot of confidence in his game, someone with winning attitude, someone with Iverson toughness... and the only person who fits this bill is Kemba Walker. The only player I pick over Walker is Irving ... and that is not even by large margin like some people would think. Derrick William is great, but have seen over and over players like him tend to struggle or be average in the NBA... like Beasley, Glen Robbinson, Jamal Mashburn, Antawn Jamison, etc...
