If Combine means anything Joe Alexander, Luke Jacksson, Sear Sane would be All Stars and superstars by now ...

I'd take Jimmer over both, but yeah, Knight will most likely be picked ahead of Ooompah Loompah.

You worse then Kelly and BC if you are taking Freddete over Walker or Knight.... I would rather trade the pick then take Jimmer anywhere near the top 20. This team needs a potential game changer, leader, someone who can create his own shot, someone with an edge, someone who has allot of confidence in his game, someone with winning attitude, someone with Iverson toughness... and the only person who fits this bill is Kemba Walker. The only player I pick over Walker is Irving ... and that is not even by large margin like some people would think. Derrick William is great, but have seen over and over players like him tend to struggle or be average in the NBA... like Beasley, Glen Robbinson, Jamal Mashburn, Antawn Jamison, etc...

Lol, you just described Jimmer Fredette to a "T."

I wouldn't say I'd be dissapointed in taking Jimmer if Irving, Williams, Knight, and Kanter round out the top 4, but I will say that I see nothing special in him. He lacks the break-down ability to be an impact 2 in this league, I can't see him being better than a Reddick. Can't comment much on his defense.

He's a PG, and I think he definitely has the ability to break down the defence.

I don't like to depend on combine numbers to rate quickness in terms of basketball. Jimmer looks very slow penetrating with the basketball and his handle has a lot of holes.

I don't see Jimmer being able to break down NBA point guards off the dribble.

Good breakdown from Coach Nick on how both Jimmer and Kemba will fit their games to the pro level.

+1 I would seriously consider taking Jimmer #5 of this crop

He's going to be an athletic guy who cuts and finishes fastbreaks offensively and who's primary help is probably defensive due to his athleticism and length at the SF. I see 12 and 6 with defense and a usable player. I wouldn't take him #5. But I wouldn't say he's someone who'll be picked with the expectation to be an offensive star and a completley different player a few years down the road. He is what he is to me.

And then your sig. And if i could recall you liked Knight as well. Damn, your confused.

For me among guys we have a shot at

Tier 1 but it's unlikely they'll be there
Kanter
Knight

If they're not there
Biyombo
Jimmer

Wouldn't be upset but wouldn't be happy either
Vesely
Kawhi

Don't take
Kemba
Valanciunas
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

I could easily see one falling out of the top 4

Kanter is far from a tier one prospect. He hasn't played any decent competition in 3 years, and his defensive awareness looks like hot trash.

If the prospect can't play defense... I wouldn't consider them. That's how tired I am of usual Raptors ball.

I'm aware he's listed as a PG, but even if he was one, he does not strike me as a guy that has the break-down ability to keep up with the emerging young crop of athletic and dynamic PG's.

I don't have doubts about The Jimmer's ability to stick with the best point guards in the league offensively, but he'll give it all back and more defensively. DO NOT WANT!

Everyone is way too enamoured with Brandon Knight. This situation reminds me exactly of what happened with Steph Curry a few years ago. Walker will be the better player than Knight don't let Knight's physical attributes fool you, he isn't that x factor that plays with his heart and soul like Walker does. Some things can't be measured until you put them in a real game.

Knight has hit a fair share of game winners and taken over games too. Don't downgrade one just to boost the other. They are both sweet players.

I can agree with this. Look at guys like Jameer Nelson or Derek Fisher. Sure, they have Dwight and Kobe, but their heart is off the charts. Remember when we played Orlando and everyone was talking about our distinct advantage at the point. In the end, Jameer has his way with TJ and Jose. Same goes for Fisher; I agree his supporting cast was amazing with Bryant, Gasol and Bynum but he still fought with Westbrook, Rondo, etc to get LA to the title. I'll say it again, Fish had an amazing cast but his heart allows him to make plays at his age. Kemba is not even that small, and he has tons of heart. You don't lead a team (on your own) to the NCAA title without being at least a little special.

I'm just not buying into Knight everyone expects him to develop these mythical PG skills which he doesn't even remotely possess. On the other hand you know what you're getting with Walker, a dynamite scorer who can be the x-factor.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Jameer ended up being a pretty good NBA pg. we'll just have to wait and see I'm happy with either at 5. I'm kinda hoping Knight gets taken so we nab Walker.

I don't think anyone can judge Brandon Knight as being a lessor prospect than Kemba. Knight is the youngest player coming in who actually took his team to the finals in his first year. Kemba is a safe pick because you know exactly what you are going to get. But Knight has way more upside. The most important factor is that he is coachable and willing to admit he has to learn PG position more. Say we end up with a coach like Mo Cheeks and draft Knight. You have a perfect mentor, a former HOF defensive PG teaching a young PG with all the talent and drive in the world.

Regarding Jimmer. He has mentioned in interviews that he wants to go to the right situation where he can succeed. To me, that would be one where he can do what he does best, come off ball screens and shoot. Toronto isn't really built for that, but Utah is an ideal fit.
