Watching highlights of the Spurs in the early decade and they all revolve around post-play, lots and lots of it with two shooters on the wing that can flat out knock it down. Kobe's 3 point percentage might not be great but with an open shot I'd hate to give him an open 3 at any time.
Artest though is a problem. There's a reason they want a Crawford or a Smith.
Expect Barnes-Artest to be looked at as serious prospects for a possible trade out of L.A. and for Tayshaun Prince to be a guy high on their radar. Steve Blake on the other hand will be alright.
MLE- Prince
BAE- Jeff Foster
Draft- Norris Cole, E'Twaun Moore
You say we need guys who can play D and hit the 3 and then say Artest is a problem and a good candidate to be traded ... am I missing something? Artest is the best 3 pt shooter on our team and a great defender as well ... I'd take a Tay Prince on a vet min contract as a backup to Ron but I'd rather have Vince Carter as EnigmaticProblem suggested ... great back-up for Kobe or even game closer at the 2 wikth Kobe moving to the 3 ...
