I'll admit, I didn't know about the 36 Foreign players that were drafted...

You mean you have never heard of Chu Chu Maduabum or Tanguy Ngombo? Get with it dude... :nonono: :D

I actually watch a lot of college basketball so I know quite a bit about the players...it's kinda obvious though when people don't.

highlight reels and the opinions of internet scouting sites are not a replacement for watching a full 40 minute college basketball game... but some people will always prefer their cliff notes and pretend like they read all of ulysses...

Honestly, I'll go on record as saying that I can't recall any one player in the NBA that I can project his Best Case to be. Worst case? Hard to say as well.

I mean you can say Raja Bell or Bruce Bowen or some such defensively strong guys but none of these guys had his physical tools.

Can't really do Gary "The Glove" Payton since Shumpert isn't that type of player.

I see him maybe as a SG version of Anthony Mason. There's...that's the most likely case. Mason was a guy that you've really never seen before when he became big. And he was able to impact the game big time despite not being the 1st or 2nd options and not being a "rebounding specialist". And yet everyone in the league knew who he was and didn't want to have anything to do with him when he was on the other team facing you.

I mentioned in another thread but Shumpert is kinda like a Terrence Williams type player. He may not put up great numbers in any one category but I'd expect him to have solid numbers across all categories, do things that not many other people on the floor can do, wow people at times, frustrate people at other times. Hopefully his head is on straighter than TWill's is.

That's actually very good IMHO.

EDIT: Maybe Andre Igoudala is the closest BEST CASE for him of existing/recent players.

Yeah seriously. I've seen several people refer to Shumpert as an undersized 2. Epic fail.

rofl dude is a big 2. He's the type of guy that you can throw on a 1,2,3.

Dude's jumper looks a lot like Chauncey's. He's got pretty nice form on it. Don't see why he can't continue to improve. Plus he shot 80% from the line.

To be fair, the cliff notes is probably a good call when it comes to Ulysses.

Very interesting. High best case and high worst case too. I hope you're right.

I'd guess that best case is Westbrook type with better 3-point shooting (I'm convinced he can stroke it if he can hit 80% FT -- he needs to work on range and shot selection but 80% indicates good mechanics).

I'd guess worst case is Lavor Postell or Harold Minor. Hopefully worst case is a former Bulls fan who enjoys giving D-Rose a run for his money and being able to match up with and neutralize some of his athleticism, as well as D-Wade's, etc. Hopefuly he can at least become the guy who slows down the other team's best perimeter scorer.

This guy reminds me of a poor man's what William Gates could've been. They're both athletic freaks and if it wasn't for Gates injury he would have been a hof'er I think if Iman really improves his shooting he could be a poor man Will Gates.

Ive been making the combo guard version of Terrence Williams w/o the crazy comparison for about a month now. I also like Larry Hughes/Ronnie Brewer. Hopefully his shot becomes better than these dudes and he doesnt become as big of a d*ckhead.

Shumpert is tough to project though. It all depends on his J.
