as a rockets fan i like that both have a good sense of humor...but morris' coment was stupid cuz melo seems to always play better when motivated(like yall's series against boston when he played out of his mind)

motie's comment was clearly him playing around and dwight(at least so far) hasnt been one to take comments like this badly like when shaq said he was the real superman...motie's still gona get bi***ed next year, but hopefully he'll adjust quickly to the nba

BUTTT really i just wanted to tell yall that i'm PISSED yall got harrellson...i loved watching him at kentucky because he's got heart and plays like a classic nba banger that doesn't take shiz in the post...i really hope he develops and has a great nba career

good luck next season yall have always been my second favorite team and adding harrellson made me like yall even more

Carmelo doesn't not play better when motivated. He does not have that it factor that Jordan or Kobe has. He is not a true superstar. Carmelo does not care about winning. If he does he would of waited until the offseason to sign with New York and had A LOT more help then he has now.

well I know everyone is wondering who will get abused first by the guy they talked smack about- marcus, jan vesely, or donatas- but what I want to wager on is who will score the first points over their respective opponent. my money is on donatas even though he'd be going up against the best defender- book it! obviously we don't know the schedule yet and they will only face up against them twice (opposite conferences, which might be lucky for them haha).

well thats melo's swag. he doesnt need any help unlike lebron who would not even want to sign on a team without a 3rd star LOL. teams can already win it all with just 2 stars while somehow lebron wants a 3rd star

Its nothing. Melo CAN step his defense up, hopefully he takes it as a joke and if anything shuts this kid down at the very least. Melo should be looking at Miami and wanting that success and more. Can you imagine if Melo wins a chip before Lebron even gets one? Melo should be thining Eastern confrence finals next year, and NBA championship. If he is, he'll be playing defense and he'll make this Morris scrub pay for his comments. Sometimes you cant give these scrubs the time of day, you have important things to deal. this should be Melo's case. I'm sure the night we play against them some reporter will ask Melo if he knew that Marcus said x, y, z, and Melo will laugh and probably say no, and then proceed to welcome him to the NBA.

I would just say he doesnt give a sh*t. Hes tough, like his brother. Overconfident perhaps, but not stupid. Hes obviously not Melo with defense, but thats not what he said. He said he patterns his game after Melo's on offense, and not his defense. Whats wrong with that? Melo doesnt try on defense 80% of the time, so who the hell would pattern his defense on Melo's? He should have kept his mouth shut I guess, but hes not wrong. I think the guy was just telling the truth.

Melo can obviously play good D when he wants to. I think you can say that about most All-Stars. It's just an issue of consistency.

You got the highlighted part right. You don't hear Shumpert say that he's a bigger Gary Payton do you? Forget about what you might think, anything you say will be magnified by the media. A guy like him doesn't need that one bit. I mean honestly, you know what's going to happen the first game they play NY and some (about 20 or 30 reporters) remind Melo....he's going to Glen Davised. Then what? Maybe then he'll say he's Al Harrington with the defense? And then the Rockets will play Denver and...

Of course Melo can play good D when he wants to. We've been saying it since the 08-09 playoffs. The problem is he just doesnt do it enough. If he did he would easily be thought of as a top 5 player, right with LeBron/Wade/Kobe but hes been a step below because of his effort on defense. Now that he has Amare to take some offensive pressure off of him theres no excuse for Melo not to D up more. Time to shut the critics, even no name rookies like Marcus Morris, up for good.

But that's not the point. It's obvious that Marcus Morris is an offensive player. But you come in and basically insult probably the best offensive player in the NBA right now (and he can say it however way and people can try to spin it the bottom line is it's insulting still). Honestly...he was picked 14th in a poor draft (from a start talent standpoint). You'd think he was picked 1st overall or something. Just STFU and go about trying to prove yourself with some sort of dignity.
