Perfect guy to fill that role of a small PG coming off the bench. It won't matter that he can't spot-up if he is the one running the P and R. I don't count Morris/Goudelock as part of the regular rotation this year.

A guy named Avery Johnson had quite a bit of success in this system and he had no 3-point shot either.

A vet PG who is an above average distributer could be exactly what this team needs.. both now and for the future.. someone who can mentor Morris and hit Goudelock when hes open, would really help their development.. TJ Ford wouldn't be at the top of my list to fill that role, but he could be a viable option if we can nab him.

He missed a lot of games due to a neck injury and he is small. Good but maybe not the total solution.

I wasn't thinking the MLE ... I was thinking the vet min at best or part of the MLE at worse ... I don't think he'll command the full MLE.

Delonte West people!

If you move Fisher to backup SG and TJ Ford to backup PG your third ond fourth guards are TOO SMALL!

Fisher could play with Morris. Fisher could play with Iguodala. Hell Fisher can play with Blake, but he can't play with TJ Ford (and neither could Goudelock).

Delonte West is a solid 6'3 and has proven he can guard both SGs and PGs wonderfully and he shoots better ... nuf said.

Now if you think Delonte West wouldn't come here, that's another story, but in all honesty Ford is not the ideal fit.

Don't get me wrong, when put an ideal situation, TJ Ford is a baller.

Delonte West is a better, more durable, versatile player that deserves a REAL SERIOUS look.

I've been asking for Delonte West to be signed for 2 years and would love to see him in P&G.

thought we should've made a run at him last year, would've been cheaper then Blake, but as always I'm sure his mental issue got the best of most of us and mgmt. as I recall most fans didn't want any part of West usingthat lame arse joke bout him poking our players mom's

What about Anthony Parker?

Defends well and shoots well.. anyone think we might give a look at him if Shannon opts out?

If the Lakers steal him from Boston then I'll know they are REALLY SERIOUS about winning.

Why? Because Delonte West won't cost more than three million. I'd sign him to a one year deal and I'd go as high as 4.5 mill if Ainge was really going hard for him too.

We finally agree on something.

Acquiring Delonte West last year would have been a great example of "seeing the glass half full" amidst his troubles.

I, like you, was with it.

Delonte West would be the guy to permanently push Fish out of the rotation (unless Fisher somehow beats out Blake ... because he's not beating out West).

All this talk of Delonte West is great and I wish it would happen. But we just drafted 2 PG's and still have two under contract. The chances of them looking towards West are slim, anorexic rail-figure slim. Besides I think Boston will do their damnedest to resign him.

iamworthy, I'm with you, I want David West. He probably won't be nowhere near like we saw last year but you'd think he'd be somewhere close to it. And that's all we'd need from him since he'd be coming off the bench. West has said he wouldn't mind "ring chasing" now at this late in his career, so Mitch better look into acquiring him. Move Odom to SF and put West at PF.

There are six guard spots.

Morris and Goudelock will fill spots five and six (for pennies).

That leaves Fisher, Kobe, and Blake as your guards.

Does that make you feel good? It shouldn't.

Especially because Fisher, at this stage, is only in the NBA because of what he represents ... classy leadership. If it were not for his persona and experience he'd be twelfth man.

Fisher, Blake, and Kobe can't be expected to do the heavy lifting in the backcourt,

That threesome needs A SPARK, a verstile spark who could effectively play with all three of them.

The rookie guards could contribute right away (especially Goudelock) but you really shouldn't plan on having to use them. And call it what you want, but if Goudelock is playing behind Fisher, as third string SG, you are expecting him to beat out Fisher.

If he plays behind Delonte West, you aren't expecting it so much (this year).

Rent Delonte West for a year and good or bad, Goudelock will be primed and ready the following year, but please don't entertain the idea of going into next year witj Blake, Fisher, and Kobe as our main backcourt guys.

That would show me that they are penny pinchin (regardless of how good Goudleock may or may not be).

I don't invest in either Morris or Goudelock, but if I had to guess on one of them to eventually play key minutes at PG it would be Morris not Goudelock. That said I picture Fisher starting another year and no F.A. of importance being signed. As I said before they won't change the team, they still think they can win a championship (I don't). Only way the team is shuffled is if a Paul or Howard trade occurs.

I think the best option left for the Lakers at PG is Sessions and he could be had I think for the TPE or Blake. Blake for Sessions could happen if after the new CBA is agreed upon and it includes an amnesty Baron gets waived and then I dont think the Cavs would keep Sessions with Irving so they may want a vet so Blake fits that need.

I like Gibson more because he can shoot from 3, and Mike Brown would want to push for him.
