New Orleans Hornets receive:
PG Jerryd Bayless ($3,042,280)

Toronto Raptors receive:
SF Quincy Pondexter ($1,153,800)

TRADE #20
New Orleans Hornets receive:
SF Linas Kleinza ($4,605,000)

Toronto Raptors receive:
Traded Player Exception ($4,605,000) (Peja Stojakovic)

Raptors agree to both these trades. Trade #19 works because NOLA has the avaialble cap room. We clear valuable roster spots and cap and get a young prospect in Pondexter.

Hornets agree. We do this deal to gain an asset in Bayless, not only in future deals, but on the court. I felt we let him go way too early the last time he was with us and we're righting on wrongs with this deal. Bayless is an absolute talent and we really look forward to him continuing to blosson under the tutelage of CP3. On the other hand, we get a rugged forward in Kleiza who was pretty highly touted before leaving Denver to play overseas. Kleiza, like Bayless, will be quite an asset on the floor with Monty's defense-first approach--we look forward to seeing Monty get the best out of him. And with his very feasible contract, he'll also be a nice trade chip, if it came to that.

GSW and Den have agreed to a deal.

GS sends- Travis Outlaw($7,000,000), Reggie Jackson($1,192,440), 2012 OKC 1st.

Den sends- Andre Miller($7,807,728), 2012 GSW 2nd.

We accept, outlaw is a burden and though it sucks to lose a 1st in a stacked draft, miller will be a good mentor for steph. Nice dealing.

Denver accepts. We get a good, young prospect in Reggie Jackson and another pick in the 2012 draft. We take on Outlaw's contract and lose Andre Miller, but this allows Ty Lawson to step into a starting role for us. We were looking to go young, so this helps in that regard. Good dealing.

PDX and PHX have a trade to announce.

PDX outgoing:
Gerald Wallace $9,500,000
Raymond Felton $7,560,000
total: $17,060,000

PHX outgoing:
Steve Nash $11,689,062
Jared Dudley $4,250,000
Robin Lopez - $2,862,602
total: $18,801,664

Nash is still an elite player (15/11 on 50/40/90), and we feel a Nash/Wade backcourt is the best in the league. Dudley is a nice fit at SF, an elite defender and 3 point shooter he will be our Bowen. Lopez is good Oden insurance.

Confirmed. We'll miss Nash, but we felt he deserved a chance to compete for a championship before he retires, and playing alongside Wade and Boozer will provide him that opportunity. Felton is a quality PG who is still pretty young, and Wallace is an elite defensive SF in his prime. Dudley wasn't needed with Wallace, and Lopez wasn't needed with Gortat and Frye either.

The Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs have a blockbuster deal to announce.

The Clippers Receive:
SF Kawhi Leonard ($1,488,400)
PF Tiago Splitter ($3,650,000)
C Antonio McDyess ($5,220,000)
Total Salary: $10,358,400

The Spurs Receive:
C DeAndre Jordan ($12,000,000)

$10,358,400 x 1.25 +.1 = $13,048,000

The Clippers accept.

While it's extremely hard to part ways with DeAndre Jordan, whom we believe will be a 20/10 player very soon. Unfortunately, he won't be there with Kendrick Perkins blocking him. We get a very good package for him. I personally thought Kawhi Leonard was a top 5 prospect in this past draft, so getting him was pure gold. I've liked Splitter since he was a draft prospect, and the Spurs seem to think highly of him. And McDyess is a great veteran to have around.

P.S. DeAndre Jordan isn't BYC because the Clippers are under the cap.

P.S.S. Roc, I'll get my roster updated as soon as this post is finalized.

Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves have a trade to announce:

Houston IN/Minnesota OUT: Darko Millicic ($4,776,500)

Minnesota IN/Houston OUT: Courtney Lee, Terrance Williams ($4,594,133)

Houston accepts. We needed a C and Darko fits the bill. We feel he can continue to improve on his last season and a half, and become a solid starting C for us.

Minnesota accepts. When we found out that we were getting not one, but both of these guys for Darko, there was no way we could turn down the offer. Both are young wings who will thrive next to Rubio in an uptempo system.

Detroit Confirms this Trade - Sorry for the delay. Pistons hate to move the potential of B Knight, but if a proven PG with PER of 19 and Needed Big to bring the Defensive presence and hustle attitude in A Varejao were offered Detroit had to make the deal. Again, we are bringing in both young talent and Culture to improve this team.

#24 - The Hornets and Mavericks have agreed to a deal

Hornets outgoing:

TPE (947,907) of Darren Collison TPE (see roster)

Hornets incoming:

Ian Mahinmi - 947,907

Mavericks outgoing:

Ian Mahinmi - 947,907

Mavericks incoming:

TPE (947,907) of Darren Collison TPE (see roster)

Hornets accept. We pretty much sealed CP3 re-signing with this move. Ha..ha. But seriously, Ian is a guy I've had my eyes on for a few seasons now and I feel all he's really needed was playing time. Well, he will get it in New Orleans..no not really, but the thought was a kind gesture right?

Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets agree on the following trade:

Toronto receives:
PG Jordan Farmar ($4,000,000)
SG Stephen Graham ($1,106,941)
2012 2nd RND (CHI)
2015 2nd RND

New Jersey receives:
Cap Space

Raptors agree. We get a couple assets in the 2nd RND picks, and a nice scoring option off the bench in Farmar. Deal works because I have nearly $20 million in cap space.

Edited to correct the fact that I have to be over the cap to use TPE

Brooklyn Accepts.
We give up 2 future 2nd rounders which don't really mean nothing to us, to clear out about 5.1 million in cap space. Good dealing.

Atlanta and San Antonio have agreed a trade.

Atlanta Trades

Joe Johnson - $18,038,573
Josh Smith - $12,500,000

= $30,548,573 (*1.25 + $100k = $38.2m)

San Antonio Trades

Manu Ginobili - $12,981,037
Tim Duncan - $21,164,619

= $34,145,656 - deal works.

Atlanta does this to contend. The window gets shorter (maybe one or two years) but after that we still have Horford to build around. High Risk/High reward

San Antonio accepts, while we are reluctant to let the man who has been the face of the franchise go, we felt it was time to move one. Manu will be missed greatly as he is the best player on our team. Joe Johnsons and Josh Smith are most certainly welcomed to the team.

#28: LAL, NJN and TOR have a trade to announce:

Part 1:

TO LAL:
Anthony Morrow ($4,000,000)
Johan Petro ($3,250,000)
2014 NJ 1st

Total: 7,250,000

TO NJN:
Ron Artest ($6,790,640)

Total: 6,790,640 * 1.25 + 100,000 = 8,588,300

Part 2:

TO LAL:
Solomon Alabi ($830,000)
Daniel Gibson ($4,403,834)

Total: 5,233,824

TO CLE:
Johan Petro ($3,250,000)
Darius Morris ($473,604)
Derrick Caracter ($788,872)
2014 NJ 1st

Total: 4,512,476 * 1.25 + 100,000 = 5,740,595

Both parts of the deal work.

LAL accept. We turn Artest into some much needed shooting help. Gibson is a great 3 PT threat from the PG, and Morrow is lined up to be one of the best shooters in the league soon. Artest is also arguably a bad contract, so to get some young guys for him is great. Alabi get my front court beefier. Nice dealing guys.

Raptors agree, we get a nice prospect in Darius Morris and a future 1st for two players who didn't have a future on our team.
