lol wtf@ baseball, hitting 90mph slider doesn't require skill?

requires one of the highest skill levels.

it goes(from least to most):
football(exception of QBs)
basketball (pg is the highest skill level position)
baseball
hockey

i'd go with football. a lot more athleticism than skill. baseball probably requires some of the most skill.

That's pure hand-eye coordination, along with strength. Where's the skill?

Out of the major sports its football because it is so specialized. Anybody who says baseball has never tried to play baseball with players who have a reasonable amount of talent.

inb4 another 20page thread debating what "skill" is.
The definition of a skill is being good at something.

Then why is it that steroids can significantly give you an edge in baseball compared to the other sports?

How is hitting a pitch that is thrown with intention of you not hitting it, NOT a skill? That is the hardest thing to do in professional sports, especially at the pro level.

I'd say hockey. Too many times do people score off lucky shots or ricochets. Football is in a close second.

They all require varied and different skill sets in different areas. The question doesn't make any sense, and would just inevitably fall into an unwarranted pissing match.

your the first to say hockey, mine was in order from least to most...

BRB strapping BLADES to my feet and skating around on ice @20mph, all the while handling a small puck on the ice at the end of a stick and trying not to get my head taken off the other players...

Football easily besides QB.

How hard is it to run in a line and catch a ball? How hard is it to run over people and try to tackle someone?

etc.

It's all based on athleticism how good you are in football.

Football.

lol @ anyone who says baseball. Fun fact: hitting is only one part of the game. And it's hard enough as is.

Think of it this way - if you got a group of average (in terms of athleticism/co-ordination) humans who hadn't played any of those sports and told them to go play a pickup game, what would they have the most trouble playing at a reasonable skill level?

I think it would go (hardest to easiest) - hockey, basketball, football, baseball. The first two you're doing two things at once as basic aspects of the sport (skate/hit puck, run/dribble), the other two it's pretty much either run, or jump, or throw, or swing.

It's obviously a massive generalization though.

Yeah we had this conversation on the Knicks board a couple days ago and some people didn't have the capacity to understand you can athletically train from a young age and become a football player.
