Trade #144

Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics agree to the following deal:

Boston receives:
PG Mo Williams ($8,500,000)

Toronto receives:
PF Kris Humphries ($5,900,000)
PF Brandan Wright ($2,500,000)

Toronto accepts. Salaries are practically equal and Mo was on an expiring and we like the depth Humphries brings to the bench.

The Knicks and Sac-town Kings have agreed to a deal.

The Kings trade:
2013 2nd round draft pick

The Knicks trade:
Aaron Brooks 6,000,000
Mike Miller 5,830,000

The Kings are well under the cap and can absorb this hit.

The Kings are happy to make this trade. We finally get help at point guard and small forward. We've been looking for help there all game. But most trade offers we got either bent us over a table or just weren't interesting enough to pull the trigger. This deal gives us two quality veteran players at positions of need for nothing.

We accept.

With Roddy and Jeff Green handling backup duties...we found it necessary to cut some $$$.

Indiana and LA (Lakers) have agreed to a trade.
EDIT: #146

Indiana Trades
Kevin Martin $12,439,675
Darren Collison $2,399,414

Lakers Trade
Monta Ellis $11,000,000
Eric Maynor $2,388,721
13.38 x 1.25 = 16.74 > 14.8

Indiana accepts. I feel like I have been sitting on my hands for a while, and it is good to get an offer that I feel is fair value for what I am sending. I really think that Maynor have been an overlooked player since he is on such a deep team, and I like that Monta is two years younger than Martin. Now all I want is another point guard, and I should be sitting pretty.

LAL accept. We have been looking for an upgrade at the point and this gives us that. Martin still isn't very old, and is one of the most efficient offensive players ever. Ellis was a liability on D, and Martin isn't. Collison is a legit starting PG in this league, and having Miller mentor him should put him at an All-star level.

The Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers have a deal to announce.

The Nuggets Receive:
PG T.J. Ford

The Clippers Receive:
PG Baron Davis
2013 2nd Round Pick
2014 1st Round Pick (via New York unprotected)

We needed an upgrade at point guard, and Baron Davis was the best on the market. He's also an expiring contract, so we will still be able to be players in next year's free agency.

Baron Davis was one of 5 PGs on my roster and was eating up $14 million in cap space. This is a no-brainer for us. It also allows us to give Greivis Vasquez some burn, as we are a young, young team. Good dealing.

Trade 148
BULLS & PISTONS MAKE MOVE

In what is sure to be a prelude to other trades, the Chicago Bulls have moved All Star PF Carlos Boozer to the Detroit Pistons. In exchange, the Pistons send C/PF Jason Thompson and SG Josh Childress. A Piston spokesman said this trade came to us and was executed very quickly. While Thompson was expected to be the starting Center for Detroit, Channing Frye, Ian Mahinmi and Jordan Hill made the decision to accept this deal very easy.

Carlos Boozer - $ 15,000,000 x 1.25 = $ 18,750,000; for
J Thompson (12M) + J Childress (6.5M) = $ 18,500,000 - the salaries work.

The Bulls accept. This trade was mainly to get a center and a contract big enough for a follow up trade.

Trade 149

The Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks have agreed to a trade:
The Bulls receive:
Al Jefferson: $15,000,000
Wilson Chandler:$8,563,000
Total:$23,563,000
The Hawks receive:
Joakim Noah: $11,300,000
Josh Childress: $6,500,000
Brian Cardinal:$1,399,507
Total: $19,199,507
$19,199,507 times 1.25+100k=$24,099,383
The Bulls are ecstatic to add a quality after trading away Deng. Jefferson is also a high scoring post player who fits perfectly with Jason Thompson.

Atlanta accepts. Been looking for a true C to pair with Horford all game. Finally get my man. Love the Horford/Noah front court. Good dealing

Atlanta and New Orleans announce a trade - 150!

PART 1:

Atlanta Trades

Shawn Marion - $8,396,364

New Orleans Trades

Jan Vasely - $2,831,600
Zydraunus Ilgauskus - $854,389
Marquis Daniels - $854,389
= total = $4,540,378

NOTE: New Orleans has $4,468,362 cap space to absorb the extra salary

PART 2:

Atlanta Trades

Mehmet Okur - $854,389

Works, as Okur is on a minimum contract

PART 3:

Atlanta Trades

Delonte West - $2,200,000

New Orleans Trades

Vlad Radmanovic - $854,389
Brian Scalabrine - $854,389
Total = $1,708,788 (*1.25+100,000 = $2,223,972 - the deal works)

- as part of the transaction, Atlanta sends rights to their own 2013 Draft Pick (unprotected) to the New Orleans Hornets

Atlanta confirms. A bit of a messy trade but is essentially Marion / West / Okur / 1st for Vasely & 4 mins. Hate giving up Marion as he's just had a fantastic playoffs, but I've had to acknowledge I'm rebuilding. Vasely is relatively unproven but hopefully he fulfills his potential. Good dealing!

NOH accepts. We've been shopping for a proven SF and Marion fits the bill perfectly as he will fit our roster nicely with all the playoff experience this team has - not to mention championship experience. Together, my starting 5 will have 6 championships colllectively! That will definitely help us with our run. Marion will also be able to log minutes behind KG. Gaining Delonte was for value as well. Now we have a bit of a log jam at the PG/SG position...but that's ok!

Trade #151

NOH and PDX have agreed to the following trade:

NOH sends:
Kirk Hinrich ($6,500,000)

PDX sends:
John Salmosn($8,083,000)

$6,500,000*1.25=$8,125,000 > $8,083,000

Money works! NOH has a log jam at the guards position and Salmons would make a great backup wing, and open up more minutes for Marion to backup KG. Good Deal!

Thought we were done trading but this came along, so we thought why not?

Chicago and Phoenix have agreed on a deal

Austin Daye - $2,958,077
Bismack Biyombo - $2,584,900

total = $5,542,977

for

Quincy Miller - $2,429,880
Brian Scalabrine - $2,155,811
2013 2nd

total = $4,585,691 x 1.25 = $5,732,114

Phoenix does this to get the guy we really wanted in the draft. Miller is an elite scorer and has enough size (6'9) to play 3/4 if he bulks up, and we get a 2nd next year to replace the one we traded earlier. Biyombo and Oden were too similar anyway.

Atlanta and New York have a trade to announce - 153!

Atlanta Trade:

Joakim Noah - $12,000,000
Jamal Crawford - $8,502,500

New York Trade:

Marc Gasol - $12,463,024
Arron Afflalo - $7,800,000

*deal works, numbers within $250k

Why for Atlanta? Well, it was never my intention to flip Noah, I love the Florida connection. But I also needed some scoring in the front court, which Marc is more capable of, and the slight downgrade in front court defence is alleviated by the upgrade defensively from Crawford to Afflalo. Hopefully I won't regret it!

CHI agrees. I already have Chandler at the 3, so Biyombo gives me a great defensive back up and i get a great shooter in Daye.
