Re: Transfer Thread 2.0! New and improved
Coates to Liverpool official
Raul Miereles name getting thrown around alot, mainly linked with Chelsea who seem to want him as a plan B to Modric....recent offer was 8mil+Yossi which L'pool thankfully rejected quickly, any deal for Raul is going to involve Sturridge or a increased initial offer, around 15mil+ (they rejected a 12 million pound bid from tottenham too)
really need a back-up Striker, im high on Carroll but he still may need a little time to get settle into Daglish's style of play....with N'Gog out really just leaves Carroll, and Kuyt who switches position every other match....names rumored atm are Sturridge (in a possible swap deal mentioned above) and loaning Zarate and buying him next summer from Lazio....id be happy with either one
could prolly also use another winger, but I doubt it

Re: Transfer Thread 2.0! New and improved
With the way things have gone, my prediction is that Arsenal lands 3 more players tomorrow.
-Malouda from Chelsea...expendable with Mata acquisition
-Samba from Blackburn...expendable with Dann acquisition
-Arteta from Everton...Bendtner should be going the other way.
Not the "sexy" signings but it definitely puts us right into the hunt for the top 4.

No way we're letting go of Sturridge, I honestly think the moment he was mentioned in the Meireles deal (of whom I am a HUGE fan of) we just hang up the phone.

Malouda is not expendable, other than Mata we have nobody who can down the left, Kalou on the other hand can be had. Really doubt we would sell Malouda.
Samba wouldn't also be expendable, Blackburn are looking to have the Samba-Dann partnership should the transfer go down, I think they're more looking to offload Nelsen/Givet should they deem someone surplus.
If Everton does sell, which I think they should do and just start again from scratch with the amount of talented prospects they have. They won't take in any players, they'd just want all money and wouldn't want to take on the insane wage bill that Bendtner is going to demand.
I still think Arsenal is in the hunt for the top 4, people really underrate Wenger's tactical mind, I think once he gets a full squad the results would start coming in especially with the amount of activity he's doing right now only further emphasises their challenge. Don't forget that Wilshere, Sagna, Vermaelen, Song are out, that's 4 out of the starting 11, of course you're going to struggle if you're missing 4 out of 11.
BTW, transfer deadline day everybody. Gotta love deadline day!

Re: Transfer Thread 2.0! New and improved
Stoke agreed a deal for Cameron Jerome and Nicklas Bendtner. I think they'd just sign one of them so whoever gets signed first the other one won't get signed.
Porto and Chelsea discussing fee for Alvaro Perreira. Not a big fan of the signing, especially since it seems we have to break the release clause for him, not really needed especially with Ashley Cole and Bertrand/PVA being good prospects for us.
Modric looks to be staying whilst going from the other direction, Cahill and Parker deals in advanced stages. With Parker requesting a transfer.

I hope we keep Bendtner.
Having got Park, Santos and Mertesacker, Arsenal will likely sign a midfielder today; Hazard, M'Vila, Martin Marvin, Arteta and Fellaini the names floating.

Can't be done as he's not on the Bundesliga transfer(able) list.

Looks like that only applies to transfers happening within Bundesliga. So Ribery to Chelsea could happen, although I don't understand why we'd be paying 20M+ for a cup-tied player.
