I don't see how Modric can stay when he has such a public disdain for Levy. If they somehow won the league I think he would still want to leave. When a player calls out the board/chairman in public, it's time to cut your losses.

Meireles submits a transfer request with 30 minutes remaining lol.
This has got to involve us, but I'm afraid this is way too late

I don't understand why you need to use "we". You're on Barcelona now. #StillABitBitter

I was hoping for either Diouf or Macheda to be loaned out to Everton or Sunderland. Looks like nothing of that sort transpired.

Breaking news:
Sky Sports sources understand Arsenal are set to confirm the signing of Mikel Arteta in the next couple of minutes. The paperwork is being prepared.

Looks complete.

TBH I don't even blame Meireles for wanting to leave. He had a great season and yet Liverpool were looking to sell him once the window opened. Very stupid IMO. You would think they would learn from the Alonso/Rafa debacle but I guess not. SMH

Though he's no Modric or Ribery, I'm pretty content with Meireles. I actually like him a lot.

So in your opinion which are the top 10 biggest transfers this year?

Most surprising? Biggest move? Who stayed that you thought for sure would move on?

Not in any particular order but of the ones I can think of off top of my head:
1. Fabregas
2. Nasri
3. Aguero
4. Mata
5. Young
6. P. Jones
7. Sahin
8. Sanchez
9. Coentrao
10. Pastore
11. Eboue

Most surprising - Mata for me
Biggest - Fabregas
Bargain - Sahin, Enrique
Worst - Pastore
Who stayed? - Modric, Sneijder, Tevez

Which team had the best summer? - Barca, Liverpool
Which team had the worst? - Everton, Arsenal
My favorite - Stoke

^^ You accidentally put 2 1's beside Eboue instead of just one.

Meireles was arguably Liverpool's 2nd best player after Reina last season. I'd have thought they'd sell Lucas before him.

I swear if I see Jay Spearing start in an important match or derby this season I'm going to have myself committed.

Unsure about the top 10

Most surprising - Pastore
Best - Nasri
Worst - Modric (for not being sold)
Bargain - Coates

Best summer - Man City
Worst - Tottenham or Arsenal

Sleeper - Shane Long

I think Lucas is better and less expendable. All of a sudden we aren't that deep in midfield anymore.
