Sorry - I guess it was josh ? or whoever was the Denver GM. I didn't want to go through all the Discussion thread where I saw it. The point is there are 3 out in 2 days. If it's not a problem - play on. Just unhappy about emailing - IM and waiting all day to find the GM was gone. If there's no reason to be concerned - ok. But I am concerned about the fallout.

I want to make a trade with Philadelphia, but their GM retired.

What can I do now to try and make a trade?

The Larry Bird Provision will be in effect for teams over the hard cap, this will be a part of the Grandfather system, however all trade restrictions still apply and teams will only have the ability to sign free agents from other teams for the minimum.

Teams have to be able to sign FAs for the same amount or it will give the team holding the FA a HUGE advantage well beyond the extra year and 2.5% raise difference.

I guess I didn't explain this well:

If a team is over the HARD CAP, they still have the opportunity to use their bird rights to sign their own free agent to an amount that they feel is appropriate (even if it is the max). If they need to add other players, however, they will not have the MLE, only the ability to sign a player for the minimum. Teams under the hard cap, but over the regular cap will have the MLE, and teams under the regular cap will have cap space.

I hope that addresses your concern.

What If I don't have the Bird rights to the player on my team?

For example, Shannon Brown. He was on the Lakers, but the Lakers don't have his bird rights. Is there a way to resign him? Or do you have to use minimum contract salary like I would with other free agents.

Brown should be an early bird free agent:

EARLY BIRD EXCEPTION -- This is a weaker form of the Larry Bird exception, and is also a component of the Veteran Free Agent exception. Players who qualify for this exception are called "Early Qualifying Veteran Free Agents" in the CBA. A player qualifies for this exception essentially by playing two seasons without being waived or changing teams as a free agent (see question number 26 for details). A team may use this exception to re-sign its own free agent for up to 175% of his salary the previous season or the average player salary, whichever is greater (see question number 25 for the definition of "average salary." Also note that for 2005-06 they used a defined figure of $5 million). Early Bird contracts at least two seasons in length (which limits this exception's usefulness -- it's often better to take a lower salary for one more season and then have the full Bird exception available the next season) and no longer than five seasons. A player can receive raises up to 10.5% of the salary in the first season of the contract using this exception.

I'm intrested in this kind of situation:

I am intrested in George Hill. His salary on ShamSport for 2011/12 season is $1,390,906.
But on hoopshype it's $2,086,359.
Pacers GM in the roster thread wrote that Hill's salary is $2,086,359. If i want to make a deal, which salary should i look at?

Don't understand me wrong. Nash is available but only for the right pieces. It should be an offer that we can't turn down and would force us into a short rebuilding process.
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

As per Larry Coon CBA.

??? That is more than a 2nd rounder gets in the 2nd year of his contract.

2nd rounders always got league min for rookies = $473,604

as for rookie scale contracts they are on Shamsports which I already linked earlier. So would I be correct in assuming you will be coming up with your own numbers then?

You are correct on the rookie minimum, I misread Larry Coon's CBA. Usually rookies sign for 120% of the rookie scale, to make it easy we will just have them sign for 100% of it.

Philadelphia will be inactive for about the next week, he is not dropping out of the game.

Also, if anyone wants two teams, New Orleans is open, I don't have the time to run Toronto, New Orleans and be commish at the same time, plus, I think it is sort of a conflict of interests since they have so many free agents.

Two teams ran by same person?

Looks like Chris Paul is going to be traded for bad contracts to the original user's team.

Ex: Wolves trade Darko Milicic, Brad Miller, Luke Ridnour for Chris Paul.

Hornets GM (me): Accepted. We want to clear Paul's contract and get some crafty vets.

Wolves GM (me): Accepted. We feel Chris Paul is a very talented PG that will bring leadership to the Wolves and guide rookie Ricky Rubio.

The commissioner only has them because GMs dropped out. If GMs ever have 2 teams, the normal rule is no trading between them.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.
