Presuming Wall's work pays off (and it's nice to see him putting in the time), it's gonna be pretty wicked to watch the guard corps in the East over the next decade.

Not saying anything specifically about Wall, because I believe he'll have a good career, but just making those shots in practice sessions doesn't mean it will translate to gametime. A few years ago Sebastian Telfair used to do the same thing, and his jumper never translated to the real game. I do think that Wall will become a much better shooter than Telfair did though.

Actually, it did. Telfair improved noticeably from 16-23 feet. He had other issues with his game that held him back, it certainly wasn't his perimeter shot.

Dammit people. I'm tired of these "tension-reducing" statements, ones that usually follow quotes directly challenging each other, like "I don't know who's the better PG, but it suuure is gonna be cooool watching these guys go at it for" blah blah blah.

He asked 'Why can't I be MVP?' two seasons ago and everyone laughed at him. He kept quiet and added a jumpshot over last summer and now he's the MVP of the league.

Personally, I'd like Wall to do less talking and just prove it. We all saw him during the charity games. If he makes 2,000 jumpshots everyday, then he needs a new shooting coach cuz his release is way too slow to be really effective.

I'm not saying he can't do it. But I'd prefer to prove to everyone that I'm a beast with my play in a real NBA game rather than just talking about it all of the time.

Easy for Rose to do. Dude has zero personality to speak about anything.

i wonder how many attempts are required...

if it was anywhere north of 4,000 that would turn things around quickly in this thread

This is what Rondo should be doing.

Wait, could he even make 2000 in a day....? Joking!

Tyrus Thomas committed to hitting 700 jumpers a day one summer. But must have been too low a number, because he was still inconsistent as heck the next year. 2000.... we'll see if that's enough.

Tyrus should've been learning how to box out for 2,000 possessions a day.

Nice. Watching him against the Bulls last year he was real quick. He hounded Rose. He has that defense where he will kind of sneak up on you. Rose started body him up though and keeping him off his ball hand. There is just some things size will be able to deal with.

I really, really hope Wall pushes Rose. Can you imagine how stacked the East will be with Rose, Rondo, Williams, Wall?

That's just awesome/fun to watch.

East is going to be insane for PGs.

Wall
CP3
Rose
Deron
Rondo
Irving

lol who doesnt belong. I'll give you a hint, there are 2.

I wish Rondo would improve so we could have those Drose vs Rondo threads every week again.

The hatred for Rose in this forum is truly ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as Wall's hype.

For God's sake, let the guy prove something before freaking out.

Yes, you're right. I also think Wall is pretty overrated.

In case you mean Rose, you just have to take a look around this board to check that if there's something he is not that's an overrated player.

Try again.

I don't think Wall has any problem with his shooting mechanics. I think he has a nice release, and good arch on the shot. He just has to make more of them, which will come with the confidence.

It's not really hating that's happening to d.rose in this board. The guy is super good and pretty likeable. He just happens to have some fans that's sooo.. nvm

and yeah, i agree wall needs to prove something first. which is pretty much possible cause he has the tools and the right mindset

Why do you think he's making it up? Why would he if we will be able to tell if he was lying by seeing how well he shoots on his jumpers this year?

I don't think he would make something like this up. From everything that has been said about him he has an amazing work ethic. I can't wait to see what he's going to do when the season starts. He's fast, explosive, quick with his moves, and has great court vision. If his jumper improves (which it should) he'll be one of the top point guards in the league and a very fun player to watch.
