I would be lying to say he can't improve his shot. At that age when I played college ball. I shot over 1000 shots a day and became automatic in the mid range game. It's possible.

Rose was not the best defensive PG last year. I don't care what numbers you use. The Bulls play elite defense. Everyone numbers look good. It's like the Magic players D numbers with Dwight. Rondo was the best defensive player at PG last year.

yes he was.

#1 in the league in points per play
#1 in isolation points per play
#2 in opponent FG%
#2 in percent scored against

if you want to credit the team defense, observe the second stat again.

He wasn't even the best defensive PG on his own team.

How so? Are you saying that the stats lie? I love how people use stats against Rose but when someone wants to bring them up in his defense they don't count.

so was CJ watson the best defensive PG in the league then?
fine, best defensive PG in the league that mattered. IOW amongst starters.

"isolation points per play"

What is this stat based on? isn't help defense included in this stat?

LeBron has a terrible work ethic. No wonder why he doesn't have a post game already

How can you make that assumption? Till this past year he didn't require a post game and when he signed with the heat they were still figuring out his proper role. They were fine until the finals and now this off-season he started to work on it..I mean you need a proper off-season to actually train that.

Nice to see Wall working hard on the weakest part of his game, but 2000's shots a day isn't going to automatically improve his jumper. It's the consistency throughout a larger span of time of working hard at his jumper is what will improve his form and jumpshot. It's like when college students pull all nighters; they aren't retaining all the information in their brains that they put the effort in because they're trying to cram in so much in such little time.

Now if John Wall is staying true to his word and working hard at this consistently everyday, then he will improve, but if he's one of those guys that works super hard one day, rewards himself by taking the day off or not working as hard the next couple of practices, then he won't improve as much as he would want to.

^ it's just nice to see a post about John Wall!

whoops, I mean, how about that Rose and his elite defense you guys?

On a serious note, I don't think Wall has the kind of attitude or personality to give himself a day off. The dude has serious work ethic and wants to be the best.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I don't think he will ever be a great jump shooter with his form the way it is. I like to think that every different form has a potential ceiling to how high of a percentage you shoot. In practice, you can maximize that percentage through a 2000 shots a day type of practice. If that maximized percentage is still horrible, then you need a new form.

This is an interesting point that is brought up. John Wall has no reason to lie, dude was truely making 2k shots a day. His form is what is holding his shooting ability back, not his work ethnic.

Derrick Rose before he became an amazing shooter, shot in the low 70's % percent range, but had flawless form. Now he is shooting in the 90% percent range.

Time for Johnny to change that form of his next offseason. When he does no one will check him
OJ Mayo , Michael Jordan , Allen Iverson.
