Australia-New Zealand multisport cup

Post#1 » by BC_ » Wed Nov 16, 2011 3:49 am

I wonder if we could combine our rivalries with the Kiwis in various sports into one overall cup.
Test Cricket
One-Day Cricket
Union
League
Netball
Basketball
Soccer
Make sure there's one game per sport per year in each country (some would already have that) and have the results tallied to award an overall trophy at the end of the year.

Being an Aussie sounds like a good idea haha. Cricket atm I guess could be a toss up although I'd still back us. Union would be the only chalk down loss I reckon anyway.

The White Ferns are #1 ranked netball team atm.
We'd win more years than they would, but our expectation would be 100% record while they'd love 50%.

We did we did. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure in head to head series or tri nation series we own them. We just choke at the comm games.

In a landmark day for Australian and New Zealand basketball, today saw the first NBA game with THREE ANZAC's in it. With Milwaukee playing in Portland, Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills and (Kiwi) Sean Marks all played in the same game.

It wasn't a great night for Bogut who's team was on the wrong end of a beating (80 - 106). Without his starting point guard Brandon Jennings (fractured left foot), Andrew had just 5 points 5 boards. Sean Marks had 6 points, 5 boards, 2 blocks in 24 minutes of court-time which are all good numbers for him.

I think NZ get the points there :(

So are you going to put this idea to your local member BC or just make do with a RealGM award?

Another point to NZ:

World Scrabble Championship 2011
The winner was Nigel Richards of New Zealand who defeated Andrew Fisher of Australia with three games to two in the best-of-five finals.
