^^ Pek is not a good defender at all. He can be a very efficient rebounder and post-scorer though.

For those who are complaining about a Rondo-Bargnani deal, get your head out of your asses.
This is a All-Star PG who rebounds and defends better than our starting Center. Sure he has flaws but someone would be crazy to suggest that Bargs is the better piece. He might fit here better but Rondo is the better player.
That said, he does not fit here but I would still make the trade and flip him later or do a 3 team deal that sends out Bargs and nets us a different player.
We'd be lucky not to get laughed off the phone though.

^ Agreed.
Rondo for Bargs is an automatic move. But fat chance of that.
Could you imagine AB beside KG? KG would murder him.

On the contrary, KG would most likely get murdered.

Rondo + X for Bargs + Barbosa (or Calderon). I actually think Calderon would be a great player for Boston.

All star PG that Boston's willing to trade? The only young 'good' player they have and they want to trade him?
Maybe you need to watch some games.

Rondo+Krstic (or JO) for Bargs+Barbosa works salary-wise, or maybe Rondo for Bargs+Bayless. I agree that Jose looks like a really good fit for that team, but I doubt that Boston would want to pay him what he's owed this year and next, especially when they may want to re-sign Green, and figure out how much to pay Allen/KG this summer.
A Rondo for Bargs deal is very hard to work because Boston is left with no PG, they're more likely to look for a guard that can bring that scoring punch instead.

Haven't posted in so long but I like that Rondo deal.
Bargnani
Calderon
For
Rondo
JO
Or something like that? I really want to grab another pick in the upcoming draft
What about
James Posey
IND 2012 1st Round Pick
For
Andrea Bargnani
I would want to go into 2013 as
Kabongo (IND 1st)
Derozan
Barnes (TOR 1st)
Davis
Val
Bargnani
Calderon
For
Rondo
JO

Rondo's value is off the charts as a pass first guard who plays great defense. Absolutely the kind of player that would work well with D.Casey's approach.
Would we do something like Ed Davis + Bayless for Rondo (fill)
if we pull a top three pick suddenly we have a pretty great young lineup
Rondo/Jose
Derozan/Weems
Barnes/JJ
Bargs/Amir
JV/Alabi
hell of a fun team to watch right there...

I've wouldn't take that deal even if it was offered to us. Rondo's game has a lot of flaws that are barely covered up by the awesomeness of Pierce and Garnett.
This is a PG who can't shoot the ball, who might have a high assist only because he plays with amazing players.
I don't mind trading Bargs; but this ain't the right move.
LOL, what? You act like Bargs doesn't have his own flaws.
I'm not going to go any further, if you wouldn't do Bargs for Rondo then you either hate the Raps or don't know what the F you're talking about.
Rondo has 1 flaw, his jumper is weak (although improved). The rest of his game is all-star level. He can play the PnR, he can play up-tempo and he can defend his position. He's also a very good rebounder for his position and racks up steals.
Actually, it's strange that people even have to mention stuff like this.

If you can trade Bargs for Rondo it would be crazy not to. Like others have said, even if Rondo doesn't fit this team perfectly, he can be moved to a 3rd team (and IMO has more perceived value than Bargs would around the league).
Sure, Rondo has his deficiencies (shooting), but his D would complement Derozan who needs to step up and be the #1 option.

Rondo....for Bargs...and WE dont take it?!?
Take the Raptors and Boston fanbases out of the equation and consider how many neutral teams would think that deal is fair.

Rondo is probably the best defender at his position in this league, damn...Boston is crazy if they really traded this guy.

I'd imagine it would have to be:
Davis
Jose
2012 Unprotected First Rd pick
For
Rondo
JO
To get the conversation started.

Re: 2011-12 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread Pt II
Wow all I can say is
at all the Bargs + Calderon for Rondo + deals. No way in hell does Boston touch any of those. I mean Rondo easily is still a 14+ ppg scorer and better rebounder then Bargs and a solid 7-8+ apg player too boot. He's a perfect PG fit here. To say if we did get him we move him after words is crazy can you imagine how good this team would be
PG: Rondo/Bayless/
SG: DeRozan/Weems/
SF: Barnes or Miller/James Johnson
PF: Ed Davis/Amir Johnson/
C: Jonas V
We have a hole to fill at the backup C and SG spot so we would have to fill them with a FA signing with some cap space. Which shouldn't be that hard to do. With that projected team we are easily a much, much, much improved team with a legit shot at becoming a contender in 2-3 years in The East if Jonas and Barnes or Miller pan out

+1. I agree it's not something Boston is likely to even entertain the offer, I'd say that them using Rondo in a trade is more a case of "we would if it help us land Dwight" or the like, not a trade for someone like Bargs. That said, Rondo would look crazy on our team and they have said they want scoring. I would really hope that BC or Stefanski is making some calls come Dec 9th and offering everything other than DD, Val, 2012 pick and MAYBE Ed.
A lineup of Rondo, DD, 2012 pick (barnes etc), Amir or Ed, Val with Coach Casey pushing for D would be a nice change of pace in Toronto and would be scary.

I'd do Davis + 2013 unprotected first for Rondo in a heartbeat..or Bargs + 2013 unprotected first... if they are shopping you find any way to land an all star point guard.
We've got to be at least a middle tier team in 2012 WITHOUT Rondo..if we have him I think we make the playoffs in 2012.
Rondo/Bayless
Derozan/Weems
Barnes/JJ
Bargs/Amir
JV/(vet)/Alabi
thats a team.

I never said that Bargs doesn't have any flaws.
Rondo is a good PG but not a great one. He does nothing that sets him apart from other PGs.
He's decent at the PnR but not great; decent passer but not great; good positional defender but that offsets his crappy shooting.
Rondo's the most overrated PG in the league. On a team like ours, his flaws would be horrendously exposed.

Seeing as how New Orleans wants some pieces to rebuild while trading Paul to Boston and want a third team involved maybe we can make a splash?
Toronto Sends --> Ed Davis, Andrea Bargnani, Jerryd Bayless, 2012/2013 Lottery protected 1st
Toronto Recieves --> Rajon Rondo, Jermaine O'Neal, Boston future unprotected 1st and 2nd
Boston Sends --> Rajon Rondo, Jermaine O'Neal, Boston future unprotected 1st, 2nd
Boston Recieves --> Chris Paul, Toronto 2013 Lottery protected 1st
New Orleans Sends --> Chris Paul
New Orleans Recieves --> Ed Davis, Andrea Bargnani, Jerryd Bayless, Toronto 2012 Lottery Protected Draft Pick,
the 2013 pick is expendable, because if the acquisition of Rondo does make us a playoff team, the pick won't be as useful, and we can draft a piece late first round to build around Rondo/DD. Also if Rondo doesn't work out we can ship him for prospects and draft picks. Trading Ed Davis and Bargnani also loosens our PF log jam and allows to play Amir + Jonas with JO backing up Jonas.
Rondo/Calderon
DD/ Barbosa (or whoever we replace him with)
JJ/Kleiza
Amir / Free Agent
