Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

80 million profit for one season. Now you know why MLSE was willing to throw away a season to get a hard cap. Their INCOME outstrips most of the league's teams REVENUE.

Re: Leafs Regular Season Discussion
Too many defensive breakdowns. The Bruins size is a big problem for our team. The Leafs need to win on Saturday to get some confidence against them. I really liked the way the Colborne line played tonight though so that was a positive and Gardiner continues to be our best dman right now.

Re: Leafs Regular Season Discussion
The game was intense the first two periods. Leafs could have chased Boston off the puck more, when they were deep into Leafs territory. They weren't as physical either.
Boston's had great spacing on their rushes too.
4-3-1 on the dreaded latter half of November. Think the Leafs made it out great.

not a fun schedule coming up.
Coyotes OTL
Preds L
Caps W
Hurricaines L

Bruins L

Boston's just a better team. Would've liked to have seen more physicality from the captain, and Schenn was awful on that 5th goal. Right now we're too soft and don't have an top notch goaltender to bail us out.
Still, some promising signs. Kessel was dangerous all night. We were starting to get by their d with some regularity in the 3rd. Gardiner is already awesome. While Schenn wears the goat horns on the 5th, he was great most of the game.

Re: Leafs Regular Season Discussion
yep the bruins are just straight up better than the leafs. i thought the buds busted their asses last night and they still got doubled up on the scoreboard. kulemin desperately needs to get off the schnide or we might see him as a healthy scratch very soon. a point in boston would be nice but i really don't see it happening.

The Leafs have already beaten a few better teams than them this season though. So you'd think they should at least win once in a while vs the Bruins, but they always get shellacked or, in the case of last night, lose control of the game.
The funny thing is, last year we used to hear all about how the Bruins sometimes have trouble scoring, but it certainly is not evident against the Leafs this year.

Well Seguin struggled last year, this year he's an emerging star. The Bruins are just much tougher than the Leafs. I imagine they're probably the type of team Burke wanted to build. I don't see much more talent, though, tbh, outside of goaltending. It's tough to see the only guy playing remotely with some grit is Joey Crabb. We need Armstrong back. Need Mike Brown back. Need Kulemin to snap out of it. Need Phaneuf to do more than just pinch. Anyway, baby steps.

Seguin reminds me of Gilmour in his play. The Oilers made a huge mistake taking Taylor Hall over him. Hall will emerge into a decent power forward with 30-35 goals a year. He's a big kid that gets to the front of the net and has good hands, but he's not much of a playmaker and not a really strong skater. You always take the two-way playmaking center over the big winger anyday. At least the Oilers stumbled into RNH who is a hell of a talent. Even at his small size (I was at the Oilers game on Monday and seeing RNH standing next to Ryan Smyth and Shea Weber on the ice he looks like he is about 12 years olds) he's dominating right now with a puck handling skillset and ice vision that might emerge as the second best in the league after Crosby.

I've written-off Kessel growing a pair against the Bruins, but now Phaneuf? Need Brown and Armstrong back ASAP. Colborne isn't ready.

Re: Leafs Regular Season Discussion
The Bruins is just one team the Leafs cant seem to beat, even when they are clicking the Bruins tend to rise up and click better. Like climbing a mountain with no end in sight. If the Leafs make the playoffs this year, hopefully they dont manage to get themselves paired up with Boston for as long as they can lol.

Good comeback win against a New York team that is clicking right now.
Kessel with two assist to leads the league in points again.

Excellent game tonight, Gustavson played incredible and literally stole this one tonight. This Leafs team could actually look good in the playoffs especially with a couple of small moves.

Re: Leafs Regular Season Discussion
Watched the Game in Six. It looks like Schenn and Jonas played out of their minds, sometimes you get lucky if you just work hard to create breaks. Great win in NY against a hot Rangers team. Boston is the only team so far to be able to put the clamps on Toronto (reminds me of the NBA teams too lol when the Celtics just bullied the Raptors when they were good.)

Feels nice knowing I vouched for Jonas here a while back against the odds and he's doing surprisingly well since..

Re: Leafs Regular Season Discussion
bbq crow gluttony for me. gustavsson is making me look dumb right now but it's all good as i'd rather be wrong and for him to continue his stellar netminding than to be right and watch him muff easy shots.
gunnarsson whiffs on an open one-timer and then screens his goalie on the other end for the loss, but i think the leafs were lucky to even pick up a point tonight considering how lethargic they played in the first period.
