I feel bad for posting this here, but folks seemed to have really liked these two trades in the Trade Thread (pg. 74)... but with the recent info of Otis continuously trying to find a way to bring in CP3, and NOH not liking our assets... I figured a 3rd team is needed to pull this off.

A GOOD GM could get something like this done .. Not sure Otis can. Let's hope, heck even pray, he can pull off a miracle 8-)

Even after all the Otis negativity... somewhere deep down inside, I still believe in the guy to pull off some sort of miracle... it's just the wait that's killing me

Yeah .. Any GM should atleast make 1 good trade for 2 bad trades .. So let's hope the next Otis trade is a good one

Houston don't need CP3, they already got a stud in Kyle Lowry.

That being said, I don't think we'll able to get CP3. We got nothing of value; Celtic's Rondo already trump anything we can throw at NOH.

If GSW/LAC would offer Curry or Gordon, then that's it for the CP3 sweepstakes. It's suck, but Otis shot himself in the foot by taking on too many risks without regard for the future.

NOH wants to clear cap.
We can help them with:

JJ Redick, who has a Team Option for 6,000,000 for next year. They are sure to exercise that.

Jameer Nelson has a PO for 7,888,888 for next season and they would need a starting PG. IMO he will decline that PO and become a free agent because he will be a 2nd tier FA, who all the losers of the Williams, Paul, Howard sweepstakes, will likely throw longer deals at for similar money.

Brandon Bass has a PO for 4,000,000 next season, which he is sure to exercise. He is worth a lot more than that to a lot of teams out there.

NOH wants young prospects.
We can help them with:

Ryan Anderson is still on a rookie deal and would easily replace David West for them. He can be an 18/8 in this league, especially on a team that does not have a lot of scoring.

Justin Harper is young and IMO will be a good player in the NBA. He is also on a rookie deal for the next 4 years.

DeAndre Liggins is an outside threat and an above average defender. He is Ariza-esque. He is also on a rookie deal for the next 4 years.

Daniel Orton is a center who the Hornets coveted in last years draft. Centers are hard to come by and he is still only 20 years old. Rookie deal for 3 more years.

Earl Clark could be had in a sign and trade send back a TPE because they will be below the cap I believe. He would come very cheap, and has a unique skill-set.

The Hornets want to clear cap space because they are for sale. That's why I don't see them trading for ANY combination of Bynum, Odom, Gasol. That is also the reason they want Gordon or Curry, as they are still on their rookie deals. This is also why they don't want Rondo. He makes 11,000,000 and they would be at the bottom of the barrel, every year.
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

Yeah, imagine Otis' press conference after signing Allen Iverson:

"With Allen, we've finally got another star to play next to Dwight."
"But isn't Iverson too old & too slow?"
"Dwight never told me he wanted a current star player. I got him a former star player, live with it"

That said, the league’s best center by far still very much wants to be in Orlando, and he is willing to give them every opportunity to keep him. What that means to Dwight is that he wants the Magic to be contenders, and to that end Orlando has a short list of players they would like to add in an effort to return to contention. Atlanta’s Josh Smith, Philadelphia’s Andre Iguodala and Golden State’s Monta Ellis are on that list.

In other, related news, the Magic have thrown their name into the Shane Battier sweepstakes, and even believe they are the frontrunners. Battier is clearly a prized free agent, with interest coming from the San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers and other teams. He doesn’t seem to fill a specific need in Orlando, any more than the Magic have the cap space to out-bid other teams with cap room to spare.

Hmmm....

Battier doesn't fill a specific need? We've needed a good perimeter defender for a LONG time.

Dwight's birthday tomorrow? Maybe Otis can deliver him a belated gift on Friday. I see his wish list is changing again? Or did the media just realize he's buddies with J Smooth too?

Battier .. Let's see:

Former Warrior? No
Bad shooter? No
Soft? No
Horrible defender? No

Ok, someone order a Battier to Orlando billboard 8-)

battier is no longer an elite defender but he still plays harder than any of our guys. Tony allen on the other hand..

You know, if we were to end up with a lineup of...

Nelson
Ellis
Battier
Bass
Dwight

... I would be absolutely ecstatic.

Return to Orlando Magic
