If the Magic could some how get Ellis they would be a much better team than what the Nets would have
somethin like
JJ Ryan Anderson J Rich and a pick for Ellis and Biedrins

Maybe Dwight and the Magic have an agreement that he'll explore his options like most FA do just to see what the landscape looks like out there. I truly don't believe that it's a forgone conclusion at this point that he's gone. Breath y'all

Just woke up from a nightmare that Otis Smith traded Dwight Howard to the New Jersey Nets for a bicycle, and Dwight was saying that he was glad that he could make the organization happy while he left.

"Me and Mickey Mouse will be here forever."
Lies.
Lies.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.
- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

It'd be funny if it weren't so depressing.

Could we package him with Dwight like we tried to with Arenas? If you want Dwight, you have to take Otis...

They haven't actually named the teams. Only the Nets have been named as one team and the Magic have already dismissed Lopez, 2 1st rounders and taking back Hedo as enough for Howard.
IMO the Magic are doing this to see who will offer what and see how far teams will go to get Howard. It could come down to them not liking any deals and daring Howard to sign else where, leaving 30 to 40 million on the table in Orlando.
Also if they have already turned down Lopez, picks, taking back of Hedo, no way they accept Bynum, picks. Teams will have to get creative to get Howard, meaning we will have to get a ton back in order for us to deal him, which IMO will take at least 2 or 3 teams giving us assets.

This makes sense.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part III)
no other teams fans will love dwight as much as us.
we saw him grow, from a raw high schooler into the games most dominant force.
we were the ones that always defended him when others criticized him.
we always had his back, i always truly believed he would deliver a title one day.
It is sad to see a great career with us end this way, this fanbase has been as supportive of him as any other superstars base.
I hope he wakes up this morning not wanting to throw it away and tries to be like Dirk
he likely won't but damnit any other team that gets him will never have the same attachment

aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part III)
this look like the best deal for dwight.
Magic-Mavs Trade
Magic get Terry, Marion, Haywood, Beaubois, D.Jones, 1st round pick 2012 & 2014
Mavs get Howard, Turk
Magic
Nelson/Beaubois/Duhon
Redick/Terry/Beaubois/D.Jones
Marion/Anderson/Q-Rich
Davis/Anderson/Orton
Haywood/Orton
Magic get solid C replacement in Haywood, veteran Terry & Marion and 2 talents in Beaubois & D.Jones. Additionally they get 2 x 1st rounder. 2012 Terry's contract end, they will be about 12m under salary cap and can sign 2 good FA and pick 2 good players in 2012 Draft to complete their rebuild.
Mavs
Kidd/
Carter/Fernandez/Brewer
J.Howard/Fernandez
Nowitzki/Wright/Cardinal
Howard/Mahinmi
Mavs should sign former Mav J.Howard at SF and Carter at SG. 2012 Kidd's contract ends, they will sign D-Will
