Nets please. Or Mavs. Just. Not. The. Lakers. Ever.
Have them scramble.

New Jersey better find a third team with more than garbage to offer them.
Also, they better prove that no tampering occurred prior to Dwight's request.

So I am not a true Magic fan ? Even though I've been a fan since day 1, didn't jump on Penny/Shaq bandwagon, was on board before they came. I went to the 1st ever Magic game at 6 yr old. I have grown up with this team and rooted for them with every once of my blood.
I just can not bear losing another player of this caliber and continuing on with my day.
So maybe in your opinion I am a bandwagon fan.
Nobody said anything to you sir. I guess it's different for people. I've been a Lions fan since I can remember and never once imagined giving up on them, even after the 0-16 season. I LOVE my teams with a passion, I love sports, I bleed for the Magic. I could care less if they didn't win a game for 19 years, I'd be at as many games as possible cheering my ass off.
You are right here, I should continue to support the Magic. Just the pain of losing Shaq, T-Mac and now possibly Dwight is killing me.

hes under contract
why the **** is he trying to limit our options to one team?
**** that. MAKE THE BEST BASKETBALL TRADE, NOT THE BEST TRADE FOR DWIGHT COWARD

aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Nets?? Wow, I actually prefer Bynum&Gasom over anything NJ can offer ..
I don't think we're gonna trade him to the Nets unless they get us some really good picks

We've lost every franchise player we've ever had and it sucks, but Carter and Bosh compared to Shaq & Dwight isn't even a comparison. As bad as it feels now for you guys don't worry, at least you aren't us.
You'll be back in the playoffs before you know it - book it!
I always think of the other small markets, not just Toronto, who have been worse off than Orlando in getting superstars and making great season/playoffs records. It's humbling to know we are still lucky to have had Dwight in the first place and that we have had a lot of great seasons and playoffs runs.
I think the main thing moving forward is to have a management team and GM who values the draft more than FA's (it's just nonsensical to gun for signing mutiple FAs as a small market unless the core is set), so to me I would want SVG extended but my biggest hope is to fire Otis as GM and find someone like Pritchard or of similar success, especially with a small market setting and needing to use drafts wisely. It's the only way for small markets to break out of being farm teams and just playoffs participants from time to time. SA got Duncan, Ginobili, Parker themselves via draft, same with OKC.

MagicTownBaller wrote:I don't want Dwight to go to LAL, but Gasol AND Bynum? To me, that's not enough. Also, how would this even work money wise?
Pau Gasol - $19 Million this year and is under contract for 2 more years after this one
Andrew Bynum - $15 Million this year and a team option for next year at $16 Million
That's $34 Million combined and not adding the draft picks that Orlando would get from Los Angeles
Now, here's what Orlando would MOST LIKELY offer
Dwight Howard - $18 Million
Hedo Turkoglu - $11 Million this year and under contract for 2 more years after this one
Chris Duhon - $3.5 Million this year and is under contract for 2 more years after this year
That's $32.5 Million we would be sending out and we would be taking on $1.5 Million in salary and that's money that the Lakers are saving on luxury tax and off the cap.
I don't like this trade at all. It would keep us from sucking, but it could cost us high draft picks. Also, the draft picks that Los Angeles would give us, would be in the 27-30 range every year. I hope Otis doesn't pull this trade and if he does, then I hope Alex Martins fires him.
To make a long story short,
LAL TRADES
Pau Gasol - $19 Million (3 Years)
Andrew Bynum - $15 Million (2 Years)
A couple of draft picks
ORLANDO TRADES
Dwight Howard - $19 Million
Hedo Turkoglu - $11 Million (3 Years)
Chris Duhon - $3.5 Million (3 Years)
We can flip Gasol to Houston for Lowry and Scola.. Then flip Scola for young prospects and picks. Not bad imo.

Orlando GM Otis Smith told @JoshuaBRobbins today that Howard has asked for a trade. Sources tell Y! Sports that request is for the Nets.
Hang in there. This will probably be over soon.

At least have faith that Otis isn't going to just take a bad deal because Dwight says so.

@WallaceNBA_ESPN Michael Wallace
Now that Orlando has made it public, time for Otis to call L.A. and offer Dwight, Turk and Jameer for Odom, Bynum and Gasol.
Actually agree with this ..

The Nets better find a 3rd to give up their assets for nothing if the want Howard. Lopez and 2 1st rounders isn't going to be enough.

Just wondering what we might be able to get for B.Lopez? I am not excited about the idea of paying him 10+ million next off-season if he is what we get back. Also we need to ask for an ungodly # of picks like 4 1st rounders.

Any updates from Magical?????????
This is all going to be over. Get your Lopez jersey pre-orders ready. I just hope we get more than 2 firsts and Brook.

This is probably to force the Lakers to up the offers because Aldridge said the FO was not at ALL interested in the NJ deal. Nothing about it.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.
Boo.
