Why? He is a decent pg, he is def better then Bibby. I can't see the Knicks trading Douglas unless they already got a commitment from JJ or Davis.

Because signing Barea to be your starting PG is asking for disappointment. He is good in a role of playing 15-20 minutes off the bench max. You start him and you're exposing warts that people initially thought were pimples.

Are you laughing at your own ignorance? Everyone knows that's what JC is known for...breaking down his man one-on-one.

I watched him for years as a Knicks, and saying he's "one of the best at breaking down defenses" is a laughable statement.

barea isnt perfect, but is ok stopgap for this year until NY has mle for next FA

but its a mute point since it looks like he isnt going here.....i really thought yesterday he would take teh deal

I still think there is a chance he will accept it, depends on what other offers are out there. Kahn is prob going to **** this up for us.

Hopefully Baron gets amnesty with his sore back.

Falsta I'd like to know what are your expectations of a shooting guard, pg, and sixth man?

I'd really love to hear them.

The S&T for Chandler put the Knicks under the cap and therefore changed our exception from the full midlevel to the room exception for teams under the cap since it technically did not count as a free agent signing but a trade...but if they do this trade and we go back over the room exception should then become the full midlevel since again it doesn't count as a free agent signing.

Can anyone confirm that? Because it would make this trade more meaningful.

So basically he can create his own shot and break down the defense with the best of them, but most of the time they are jumpers. Lets not get it twisted. Thats always been his issue.

He can penetrate. He can break down his man and beat him. The problem with him is finishing...which is why he often breaks down his man then settles for the pullup jumper. That's due to his lack of strength more than anything. But we are digressing. He is a good scoring option behind Amar'e and Melo regardless of the method. He'll allow them to be rested together which is invaluable.

I'd be fine with Crawford as our shooting guard. I just happen to prefer keeping Douglas.

At Point guard I'd like to get either Barea or Davis since they seem to be the two best guys that are available.

I don't have a specific player in mind for sixth man.

If we don't include Douglas, deal isn't happening.

That's why Grunwald gets paid the big bucks while I'm at this computer scratching my nutsack and sniffing my fingers afterwards.

I mean really, did anyone see the Chandler, Bibby, Crawford transactions coming?

Cant be Shumpert because he cant be traded yet, so it would have to be Fields.

:D

You can't trade away defense for offense when our defense has been atrocious as it has been.

good we will be fine without crawford. He wasn't going to solve the PG position and all he would do would stunt the growth of fields and shumpert.

Let bring back big purp with the room exemption and lets prepare come on knicks!

If it's a sign and trade, Jamal's salary is like 2 million or 3 million and Atlanta doesn't really want anyone. Is it possible to just flip Balkman and walker?
