Discuss.

He was up against a Newcastle defence with no CBs, and he probably had a good 5 inches on the full backs that played in the middle.

There are better English strikers than him.

What about when he absolutely mauled John Terry for 90 mins. 6 starts 6 goals. Andy Carroll, Bobby Zamora or Grant Holt? Discuss.

I don't think Carroll or Zamora will make the team tbh. It's going to be 4 or 5 of Rooney, Bent, Welbeck, Sturridge, Defoe and Agbonlahor.

No chance England will go to the Euro's without one big striker.

I think ever since the huge failure that was Heskey they are going small. Haven't they been using the rotation of Rooney, Bent and Defoe/Welbeck mostly? I agree they'll select one big striker, but more for a similar role Crouch played last WC.

I think that had more to do with Chelsea playing the high line than JT, those were the days were you expect Jose Bosingwa to be at RB then next thing you know he's nowhere to be seen

No to Andy Carroll, still haven't convinced me since he moved

Zamora I like, he played really well against Sweden and did exactly what you'd want a direct striker to do, held up play, brought in people and won headers.

The strikers I would take to the Euros would be Rooney, Bent, Welbeck, Sturridge and Zamora. Defoe has played quite poor this year, it's not his fault but he needs more games. As for Crouch he's starting to get a run of games but I'd still take Zamora over him, Crouch sucks at holding up play and bringing people in, something Zamora can do as well as head the ball.

It's more of a Rooney/Bent duo, but since Rooney's been suspended for the first 2 games of the Euros, Capello has experimented and in the 2 friendlies against Spain and Sweden, Welbeck and Zamora impressed the most.

Big game today. Even if it means Chelsea passing Arsenal into fourth I'm still hoping they win it.

I really wish I could watch this, but I'm in Turkey and streaming websites aren't working. Just keeping up with Soccernet's gamecast. :(

Meh, Chelsea don't deserve to win, playing scared against ten men at home.
