Yeah, seems unlikely. Both United and Rooney have denied it already, and the journo who "broke" the story backtracked when he was being interviewed on 5 Live, trying to bring the focus away from the alleged sale and onto his comments about Ferguson and Rooney having a strained relationship. It's not like Ferguson hasn't worked through tense relationships with players in the past. Hell, he fired Peter Schmeichel during the 93/94 season, then agreed to bring him back when he apologised.

In other news, small, moronic portion of Liverpool's fans clearly doing their best to keep their team's name in the mud by racially abusing an Oldham player in the FA Cup tonight. Wonder if they'll blame it on cultural differences?

So, Carroll and Downing scored. Don't ask who the opposition was.

It's just how people talk in Liverpool. It's a friendly term there

A beast in the reserves league at only 17. Think he's better as a DM than as a CB right now, but he needs to get stronger just like McEachran. It's funny that after the tens of millions of pounds Roman's invested in the academy, our biggest prospects are semi-local talents like McEachran, Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek

He might be rich, but his career was tainted because of Evra and the FA.
And so is Livepool, there have been many people at the game that are saying that what people shouted was "you Manc bastard" because Oldham is in Greater Manchester and not "you black bastard". But its way easier to attract attention by the press to sell it as a racial abuse again, i dont blame them, people buy that.

Agreed, they were certainly yelling 'you manc bastard' at the Oldham player who just happened to be black.

His career has been tainted by time and time again proving himself to be a douche. Between biting, diving, intentionally handballing, and racial abuse, he's now a quadruple threat of douchiness. Only 3 or 4 more things to master before he reaches Joey Barton levels of extreme douchebaggery.

Alright, you cant chant anything to a black player because its racist, gotcha.

God bless him for that handball, semi finals were a thing of beauty ;) plus he got the red card and they got the penalty, i dont see whats the big deal.
My aunt calls me negrito and im white :( i will report her to the authorities for racially abusing me.
Name a player who doesnt dive or tries to get advantage by faking a foul or taking 20 seconds to throw a corner kick or a goal kick.
The biting is unacceptable.

Lots of players try to get an advantage sometimes, and I have more of a problem blaming guys who go down easily one in a great while. But, there are players who make a career out of it, who do it many times a game, and he's one of those guys.

I see what you're saying with your aunt. But he should recognize that it's not the same everywhere, and how certain people will take a comment like that. He's spent enough time abroad to know better. Also 'negrito' is not the only thing he's reported to have said. I don't know what was really said, I'm not likely to believe much of what Evra says. But, I don't believe innocent Suarez was just be friendly either.

Im not saying Suarez is free of blame, im saying that this got blown out of proportion just to make an example of him. Evra also admitted saying "la concha de tu hermana" to him, which is an insult to his sister, my point is that both deserved bans.
Evra accused people before of doing this to him, but was proved wrong so i find it hard to accept how the FA believed everything he said and made him look like the victim when he also taunted Suarez.

Paul Scholes has un-retired and is on the bench for the Man City game today.

Strikes me bit of desperation on United's part. Centre of the pitch has clearly been their weakest position this year.

^Very desperate, but Scholes can still play. From last season he could've carried on to his 40s.

No doubt about that, it's not like he's ever been a player who relied on exceptional athleticism to do his job. Just perhaps shows signs of Ferguson's lack of faith in people like Carrick and Anderson to do the job.

That's what, the third United player to commit a foul throw this season? Unbelievable.

Harsh red. You can't lead with two feet like that, because it gives the ref a decision to make, but he wasn't high off the ground and he took the ball pretty cleanly.
