Well Yankees catcher 5 time all star Jorge Posada has decided to hang up the cleats and retire from the game of Baseball.

The Yankees better treat him well now. This past season it was as if they wanted to run him out of town. I think Posada made the right decision instead of trying to play but I hope he stays involved with baseball.

I've never cared for Conrad. All I have is bad memories of him playing for us. I wish him the best but Brewer fans should be warned and have very low expectations.

I agree that the brew crew should have low expectations for Conrad, he did single handedly knock us out of the playoffs against SF with his errors, but u can't take away from his accomplishments as an incredibly clutch pinch hitter for us, his grand slam walk off against the Reds that completed a 7 inning 9th for us will go down in history, he may have cost us in the playoffs but if it weren't for him we wouldn't have even been in the playoffs.

Re: Around The League News And Rumors (Non-Braves)
Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that the Phillies are interested in free agent reliever Kerry Wood.
That's assuming, of course, he doesn't re-sign with the Cubs, which still seems likely but evidently is no longer a given. Crasnick says the Phillies' interest could depend on the status of Jose Contreras, who had season-ending elbow surgery in August. Wood, 34, posted a 3.35 ERA and 57/21 K/BB ratio over 51 innings last season and would make a fine setup man for Jonathan Papelbon.

I believe it was his last opportunity.
It was a no for Fred McGriff as well.
Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine become eligible in 2014.
Hall of Fame Day For Dale Murphy? Probably Not

Now that Pujols is off the market, attention turns to Prince.

Maybe the Vets can get Murph in. I think he's deserving.
Madson to the Reds. Good. Get him out of Philly.
Hopefully Hamels will not sign a 1 year deal with Philly and bolt also.

The Cubs are apparently offering Kerry Wood the most money. I think he'll end up signing with them instead of Philly.

Rangers are interested in Roy Oswalt.
http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/archi ... ar-ry.html
This is great news and I hope Texas signs him. I'd love to see Oaswalt out of the NL, not that he's the player he once was, but our Braves would benefit by any talent being out of the NL. I guess Philly has cut all ties with Oswalt (knock on wood).

At least he won't be on Phillies, Yankees, any NL East team.Re: Around The League News And Rumors (Non-Braves)

As a Yankee fan, I would be absolutely ecstatic to have Fielder on the Yankees playing 1B (instead of Teixeira). Obviously the Yankees would have to find a taker for Teixeira. They would likely have to pay a good chunk of Tex's contract but if they do it's quite possible that they can actually get some quality in return.

Fielder concerns me if the Marlins are actually involved. I could honestly careless about any of the other teams. (Nats seem to be out).
He is talking to the Rangers today. I hope both sides come to terms.

+1, I hope he goes to the AL I do not want to see Fielder 18 times a year.
