Just about every other team in the league has a pg who could maximize his talents.

I agree his contract lost value the day it was signed.

the Orlando thing is a hail mary. They say they want veterans to try to remain competitive rather than rebuild fully.

Amare's contract is pretty bad but they could remain competitive with Amare...does the contract really matter for Orlando? They are in cap hell anyway, and it's not like any FA would sign there even if they did have cap space.

Assuming it's Chandler/Amare for Dwight/Hedo

Chandler
Amare
Jrich
Redick
Nelson

thats not a terrible team. its one of those atlanta hawks purgatory/treadmill teams, but it's not terrible.

It's not just our lack of pg but the injuries that come along with him. Back, ankle, knees, etc... and the deal has 4 years left on it at 20 million a pop. In two years from now when the luxary tax triples he's going to be untradeable.

The second we used our amnesty clause on Billups we destroyed the future of the team. And to think all that could of been avoided if they didn't guarantee Billups' 14 million the fu*kin season before.. what a colossal screw-up by everyone in the F.O.

that was a head scratcher. picked up billups option and then use an amnesty on him a few days later when he's an expiring.

should have saved the amnesty for amare...if his knee gets blown out or his back gets bad, boom, problem solved.

So we don't resign Chauncey and we wind up with no pg, and maybe an average center?

Actually I think it was Donnie who guaranteed the contract the year before. The thought process was that we were gonna wait for CP3 anyways so might as well use Chauncey as a stop-gap PG. So much for that sh*t.

Now we all know that Amare must go, the question is... does any team want him? And the answer will be a resounding no.

This guy is a bum who really believes his own hype. Without his athleticism, he is nothing as a a player. He is the worst contract in the NBA at this point.

This bump brought to you by a Hakim Warrick blow-by dunk, Robin "Dikembe Mutombo" Lopez and Marcin Abdul-Jabbar.

Man, we'd be better off taking draft picks and expirings for him. This is pathetic.

It's OK guys. Amare sucks this year, but imagine how good he will be next year when Nash is his PG! Knicks = 2012 Champs

You guys will be calling Amare a God when Nash spoon feeds him to 49% shooting and 26 ppg next year

Top 10 Excuses/Responses for Amare's Pathetic Defensive Play:

1) Amare is clearly suffering from the coach's system which obviously never goes over defense.
2) Amare is clearly out of shape and is struggling as a result from his back injury.
3) Amare is clearly suffering from lack of training camp and practice time with his new teammates.
4) Amare can be hidden behind Tyson Chandler since Dallas did it with Dirk.
5) Amare can co-exist with Melo, he just needs to be more aggressive on offense.
6) Amare clearly needs a real point guard.
7) Amare isn't the only one that's bad defensively on the Knicks.
8) Amare saved our franchise and carried our team to the playoffs last year so he is untouchable and you are a traitor for suggesting otherwise.
9) Amare blocked LeBron that one time.
10) The Suns made it to the WCF with Amare, so the Knicks can definitely win with Amare.

All of these points have been refuted on this board or are just examples of poor reasoning.

So again I ask: how can people actually believe we can be a legitimate title contender with Amare at the 4? I have no desire to tread water and be in mid-lottery/mediocre playoff squad hell when we have our real franchise player and our defensive anchor locked up for the next 5 years.

Dump Amare for expirings and picks. Or for a serviceable PF or PG. Build a team that doesn't rely on lip service coming from a joke of a player.

I wana trade him for DLee, and Wright.

Having DLee here would make us easily the best rebounding team in the East, maybe the NBA. We would show more effort on defense and be more fundamental. There would be less turnovers, less isolation, more of a fluid offense. Dorrel Wright would mainly help ensure this. Wright is a solid scorer, and can surely knock down the 3. This would make us a much better basketball team, and we would do more of "playing the right way".

How about Lee/Wright/Ellis for Amar'e/Fields/TD/Walker/future 1st? :D
