Re: Official Trade Thread XVIII
My latest (needs to be done in 2 parts because Gordon can't be traded with another player):
Trade 1:
Utah trades Derrick Favors for Eric Gordon
Trade 2:
Utah trades Devin Harris+Burks for Ariza+Jack+Seraphin
Hornets trade: Okafore+Ariza+Jack+Rights to Minny pick for Lewis+Burks
Wiz trade: Lewis+Seraphin for Okafore+Harris+Minny pick
NEW LINEUPS:
Utah:
PG: Jack/Tinsley
SG: Gordon/Hayward
SF: Ariza/Howard
PF: Milsapp/Jefferson
C: Jefferson/Kanter/Seraphin
NO:
PG: Vazquez/Johnson
SG: Burks/Bellinelli
SF: Aminu/Henry
PF: Favors/Lewis
C: Kaman/Landry
Wiz:
PG: Wall/Harris
SG: Young/Crawford
SF: Singleton/Young
PF: Booker/Vessly
C: McGee/Okafore/Blatche
WHY FOR THE JAZZ?
1) They decide to win now. They have GSW and their own picks in this upcoming great draft, so they still have the ability to draft young upstarts to replace Favors.
2) Eric Gordon gives them a much needed #1 scorer. His value exceeds Favors who is all potential now.
3) Jack is a serious upgrade over Harris at PG. He's also cheaper to boot.
WHY FOR THE HORNETS?
1) Lewis can be bought out for 13 million this year as his final year is non-garunteed. They save roughly 30 million in future contracts by trading away Emeka, Ariza, and Jack.
2) They decide the get Favors and play him as much PT as possible as the building block for the franchise.
WHY FOR THE WIZARDS?
1) They will not amnesty Lewis as has been reported after this year. Instead they would have bought him out for the 13 million (See above). Instead, they amensty Blatche to make him go away. They need some solid vets like Emeka and Harris who are still productive. They also get the Minny pick for agreeing to take on an extra 22 million in salary committments to Harris and Emeka.

Re: Official Trade Thread XVIII
mhd, at least 10 mil of Lewis' contract is guaranteed next season - unless there's something you know that I haven't seen reported. I think that's almost certainly getting amnestied, and the Wiz would be loath to amnesty Blatche while having to pay him for 3 years to do nothing. One thing I'd float to him is is paying off Blatche for something like half or 2 thirds of his contract and let him be a UFA.
CCJ, I'd take Babbitt if Portland virtually gives him away. DX pointed out some warning signs about him when he was coming out. He was dead last among the small forward prospects in transition scoring, and even though he's a good shooter - he was only middling in catch and shoot percentage. Where he stood out was scoring in 1 on 1 situations, and I'd question if that skill carries over for him into the NBA - simply because NBA athletes are better - and he's not the most athletic guy in the world. And he's most likely going to be a liability on defense. He's worth a look, but I wouldn't be optimistic about him.

Yep, it's good for us.
Phoenix would laugh in our face, though.

Would a Blatche for Mike Miller trade be feasible? Same years, Blatche makes a tad more. I'd throw in Seraphin or Crawford if they wanted it.

I was about to propose it on the trade board. Go ahead if you'd like...I would like it personally.

Curious about Crawford. I heard great things about him when he was asked to be a PG last season, what happened to that?

Re: Official Trade Thread XVIII
Craw didn't make any of the progress we hoped he would, and he's not a good enough decision maker with the ball to play PG more than a few plays a game. He's a decent change of pace player, but unless he improves a lot, he won't even stick in the league.

Re: Official Trade Thread XVIII
I will say that Crawford has been better the last few games because he's taking the ball to the rim more and mostly pulling up for 3's when he's either open or in rhythm. He's always going to be around a 40% overall shooter and will never be a starter on a good team, but if he plays like that he can be a rotation guard for a while in the league IMO.

Not necessarily, especially if they weren't planning on re-signing Lopez (who will be RFA, if I'm not mistaken). Seraphin would give them a cheap big for a little longer.
Or if they do want to keep Lopez, we could do Blatche+filler for Frye+Warrick. We take on more salary, but increase our chances of a "yes" from PHX.

I looks like a real even trade... could be good for both teams, Suns are also struggling a bit. Lopez is behind Gortat, and Frye's numbers aren't as good as Blatche. If you look at the trade outcome the improvement in overall pts/rebs/assts is even.
The Wiz could use Crawford in place of Seraphin, or include a 2nd rounder (we have 2 of them) if needed. But I like the original Blatche/Seraphin for Frye/Lopez, maybe with the 2nd rounder. Swap of centers & 6-11 forwards. I think in both cases the players would benefit from change is scenery and systems. Suns get a little younger. Wizards and Blatche get to move on from each other.

Laugh in our face and pour water on us. Sorry, no chance in a million years would they do that. But then again, this is like a lot of trades proposed here - dump our worthless trash on others and take back decent or up and coming players with a smidgen of rationale why they might not like them now.
There is no chance anyone takes a Blatche - Seraphin trade back, because there's very few players in the league who are as fat-assed and clueless. Both clearly don't care about working out, so both probably don't deserve to be in this league.

That's a bad deal for us. Carmelo is a chucker, and plays no D. He would be horrible for Wall's development.

He's also a ball hog and it ties up a lot of cap space for the foreseeable future, but since Lewis is expiring soon, they'll need more front court help. Maybe Blatche for Fields too?

I'd do Blatche straight up for Duhon and Quentin Richardson. Duhon is a serviceable backup, Richardson is dead weight, but may be able to be pawned off on a contender looking for swing man depth. Duhon is the sort of "veteran mentor" that is surprisingly hard to come by in this era, where old guys going ring fishing.

Richardson was traded like five times in one summer. Apparently, there's always a taker for Richardson.
Duhon has played ball with the president. Maybe Obama comes to more games? (Doubt it, don't want to associate with a loser in an election year.)
