As opposed to being mediocre before? The fact is Dolan put legit talent on this team. Even with the roster as is, we should not be 6-10.

Yea. 3 all-stars and decent role players shouldnt translate to a losing record against the scrub teams the Knicks have been facing.

People were calling for D'Antoni's head before the trade, so don't try to pull that card.

He is not better than Melo.

Yet he was better. He got up for the game and delivered.

Now Thibbs would do it in a heartbeat.

I've watched games last year and this year, where he benches Noah and Boozer in the 4th.

melo is a star

noah and boozer arent

its easier to treat role players like that

Again, Rose, league MVP WAS BENCHED!!!!

Damn you post fast!!!

BTW, Dirk has been put on the shelf for the next few games as well.

That's coaching, save your best guys for the stretch run.

I hate D'Phoney but how is it his fault Gallo got hurt by Tractor Traylor(RIP) in a summer league game and it caused Gallo to shy away from contact until year 3?

Gallo needed to add muscle to survive in this league as he was nothing more than a 3 point specialist without it. Low and behold when he finally adds muscle, he can now go in and get involved/driving to the net rather than staying behind the line and not getting himself involved.

Gallo is Hedo Turk 2.0(Pre Toronto and doritos).....he was projected to be like that before coming into the league and will be that since arriving in the league.

This play was probably called a foul. The refs were f***ing atrocious.

I don't know what game you watched, refs were good except the Jorts block that got called a foul and the 0.3 screw up when one of them picked up the ball. Gallo got fouled on every FT attempt.

is there any viable way for us, the fans, to get the message out that we want dolan to resign and or d'antoni fired? maybe tweeting reporters and what not?

He was mediocre missing a lot of shots too for most of the game. And he missed a big FT. If Andre Miller didn't hit a lucky 3, Melo would have had a huge shot in tying the game and some big shots in OT. Lets not go crazy.

It's always been D'Antoni from my standpoint. The head coach is responsible for how his team plays, the effort, the focus, of maximizing talent, of developing where needed, of motivating, of teaching, of leading. The word "head" in head coach to me means he's the leader...but in our case it's more of a derogatory term of what fans have to be feel like he's forcing them to give him game in and game out. Hasn't changed for me one bit. I didnt' want him back then after seeing how little of the above he was able to offer, don't want him now.

In all fairness we did criticize D'antoni for camping him at the 3pt line and also currently criticizing Melo for being a ballhog.

I was of the same mindset too, I think the board was pretty split on it.

Dolan can't resign...the bugger owns the team. He's got the ultimate security blanket. D'Antoni OTOH...well...he's good to go in my opinion.

A good effort by the Knicks, and exciting game, and Melo gave his all to keep us in it and bring it to OT after a horrific shooting night.

Still, what are we to conclude about Melo's mental grasp of a team game, and of his ability to influence the flow, when one of the great drive and finishers takes 4-6 FT attempts, while Gallo takes 18-20.

Melo has a lot of heart... he showed that.

But where the fck is his head at?

Uh huh: 4-6 FTs vs 18-20 FTs. And Denver wins.

There was a telling play.

Gallo was open on the baseline and got a pass from Lawson, but he did not hesitate; immediately Gallo got the ball back to Lawson for a quick pass to Adult Al, who seized the moment by draining a knife thrust of a three.

A heady unselfish play.

Am I saying Gallo better than Melo?

No.

But...you still do that trade 9 times out of ten? Really?

good thing it's a shortened season because I'm not sure we can win another game before the off-season rolls around...

You're being desperate. He shot 9-19 from the field an 18-20 from the line.

Which other guys have had season/career best nights against the Knicks again? Now with that answer, insert Gallinari into the mix and then take in the scope of what he did.

Fun fact: longest losing streak for the Knicks in the post-Ewing era is 10 (2005-2006 season).

See games 41-60 for our 1-16 stretch.
