Grizzlies talking to Nets about O.J. Mayo trade

Nets have offered fourth-year guard Anthony Morrow for Mayo.

The Nets have also offered point guard Jordan Farmar, a draft pick and cash in a separate package for Mayo.

The second deal would definitely benefit the Grizzlies more because of the pick and cash, anthony morrow for OJ Mayo is a lateral move for Memphis at best; honestly I don't think Memphis should do either deal but the second deal is definitely better than the first.

Well, the Knicks provided us with NO HELP today. Orlando won 102-93. The Knicks big 3 played but they allowed Ryan Anderson to put up a career high 30 points.

Clippers now on Dwight Howard’s wish list

Dwight Howard now has a fourth team on his wish list: The Los Angeles Clippers.

SheridanHoops.com learned exclusively Monday that Howard recently expanded his list of preferred future destinations, adding the Clippers to a list that already included the Nets, the Mavericks and the Lakers.

“He’s been watching them a lot. He’s intrigued by the Clippers,” said the source, who is privy to the trade talks that have taken place between all of the aforementioned teams.

Clippers don't have a trade package for Dwight anymore unless they can really showcase Bledsoe and include him with DJ. Extremely doubtful that they trade Blake like some asshats on the general board seem to think should happen, the whole LAC turnaround has been centered around Blake so I'm sure that's what's attracting Dwight in the first place.

The Magics owner, Rick DeVos, has openly said that he wants veterans if he trades Dwight Howard. It's not like Chris Paul will be traded, so the Clippers have very few to offer, and none that are appealing enough for Orlando to accept. The only way I think a deal would be reached is if Blake Griffin is involved.

NBATV: The Clippers have won 1 out of their last 42 games @ Utah.

Make that 1 out of their last 43 after tonight.

Can't blame them, we just got that monkey off our back just last season, first win since 93 or something.

And now the story flips and they aren't on his list. I can sum up the list for the media to save Dwight future questions.
1) He wants to go to either New York or Los Angeles to increase his advertising potential as well as expand his post career options.
2) He wants to play on a winning team with another superstar.
3) He like a trade so that he doesn't have to accept less salary to move.
4) He doesn't want a team to gut itself to get him because it would defeat the point in moving.
5) He doesn't want to perceived as a bad guy for wanting a better situation so good luck with getting clear consistent answers in the media.
6) He'd accept Dallas because of its ownership in spite of not being a media mecca.

If I'm Orlando I play chicken with him creating a financial difference between the contract the Magic can offer him and any other team even in a S&T (new cba rules). If he develops the stones to become disliked by his current fanbase and accept less money then he can choose between the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks as the 2 teams with cap room next summer. Likely he doesn't opt out and the circus continues for another year. Not sure who is able to buy the following summer. If he has faith that the money he loses in salary could be made up for in endorsements in the right situation then he'd probably bolt, but we aren't there yet.

@JasonWalkerPH I feel if al horford had the same usage rate as Kevin love he'd put up similar numbers, with less rebounds but better post D

Kevin Love gets more than Al Horford /Joakim Noah (5/60) because the Wolves need him more than Hawks/Bulls needed them and........Love is better than they are. #thereIsaidit (there I said it)

Dwight Howard

“I told the Magic how I felt at the beginning of the year. They decided they weren’t going to do anything, so I said, ‘OK, I’m here. I’m going to play until I can’t play no more.’ You know, I don’t have no problems with being here. I want to win. That’s what I told them. So as long as I’m here — as long as they keep me around — I’m going to play hard every night and try to win a championship.

“I want to win, and I want to do it different from how everybody else did it or how everybody expects me to do it. I work extremely hard to be the best.”

Maybe Dwight gets more specific about why he doesnt want to come here. Embarass ownership into doing something.

Rick Sund:
"I think our players accept responsibility that the goal is still to make the playoffs."

Article also has the 1st report of Josh Smith asking for another center. I'm Not buying it.

I can give Sund a pass to a certain extent because I think the has limited options and I believe the ASG control almost everything he does. Sund is probably content just to have a job but the ASG are probably the worst ownership to work under.

The attendance has started to go down. At the beginning of the season the fans came out and were excited, but now that Horford is injured, I guess the ASG are just going to sit on their hands.

Orlando had a 27 point lead and Boston came back to win 91-83. Thank you Boston!

For all the talk of break up Boston, it is probably time to break up Orlando. If I'm Dwight I walk if not traded even though it will cost me money. He has the personality to make money back in advertising as long as he gets out of the irrelevance spiral that is Orlando.

Supposed now Dwight Howard is open to signing with the Celtics. So I guess the secret to getting on his list is to be the crap out of the Magic. We have our task.

Hornets win 93 - 67 against the Magic, this also snaps NO's 9 game losing streak, I think we all agree that the Hawks really are better than the Magic even without Al, the only teams Orlando beat this season have been garbage lotto teams because of a favorable early part of the schedual.

Got to play them 1st. Everyone knows Dwights from ATL and they could step up and/or prove bad matchups for us.

No wins on paper

Return to Atlanta Hawks
