How Bad is Fat Baby Davis?

Post#1 » by Rccanes2311 » Fri Jan 27, 2012 5:46 am

We've talked about Nelson, and Richardson endlessly. How mentally weak is this guy. KG destroyed his confidence in less than a quarter of work. How does something like that happen? Unreal we traded Bass for this dude.

He doesn't wanna play with the Magic, he wants to go back to the Celtics, just like "I wanna win" wants to join them.

He doesn't want to be here, that's pretty obvious. He also wants to be the starter. He also misses Boston.

He is not that bad. He bring energy on the defensive side. He is the only guy i see diving for loose balls and getting boards. But, he does make dumb choices sometimes too, but he is not awful. Got to look at his work on both ends.

Good on the defensive end most nights, a straight up nightmare on offense

He is that bad....if he makes a stop on one end god forbid he gets the ball on the other end or he'll either a.)eat the ball or b.)shoot the ball within one step of wherever he caught it. His shot clock awareness is some of the worst i've ever seen. That being said, can David Steele stop making excuses about how he always winds up with the ball at the end of the shot clock?? It always IS the end of the shotclock cause he ALWAYS shoots it!
As far as Dwight wanting him here, that's something you don't demand unless it makes you stay. If it doesn't make you stay sit down, shut up and wait for the summer to pick your roster.

He's pretty good other than the fact that he shoots way out of his range way too often.

He is horrible. The only reason I don't rank him the worst rotation player in the entire league is he does help on the glass and defensively.

He is right now the worst offensive player in the NBA. He has a offensive rating of 87. The league average is usually around 105. He a PF and he is shooting 37%. From 3-9 feet this year he shooting 28% from the field. He is only 54% at the rim. Which means a lay up for Big Baby is pretty much just 50/50. The only shot that he shoots at a decent percentage is the 15 foot elbow jumper. That the only shot he should be taking. Yet I'm watching him shoot fadeaways. Trying to take players off the dribble. Trying to post guys up.

Looking at his numbers were one thing. Realizing that when he is in the game he is the second highest on usage on the team. He has a 87 offensive rating but when he is in the game at center he becomes our number 1 option. That has to be some kind of joke.

He could be a decent player if he just stuck to the things he is good at. 15 foot jumpers and solid defense. His issue is he constantly wants to play like he is back at LSU. He just as good as Brandon Bass. Bass though understands what he does well and sticks to that. Baby is a guy that has not accepted he is a role player. If he doesn't change I think its time to start looking at other options at back up center and PF.

that one stretch in the 3rd or 4th, he took and bricked 3 consecutive jumpers. i didn't understand why he kept on taking them. obviously boston let him take them but come on man.

When he was in Boston he got easy shots from Rondo. The Celtics would never let him play the way he plays now.

Davis is just a hustle guy with low talent and some jokes. Never expected too much out of him, and he's not our main problem at all.

Garbage. One of the worst players in the league.

The only way he could help the team is by tearing his ACLs and giving us an injured player exception.

yeah, the same dwight that also wants to leave.

it sucks to think that the only thing we'll have to show for our attempt to patch things up with our spoiled primadonna girlfriend--who will inevitably leave us with bad credit and a badly tarnished reputation just so that she can be with a man whose only positive quality is that he lives somewhere "nicer"--is a painful, hard-to-get-rid-of s.t.d. named big baby davis.

ugh...

He's been about as bad offensively for us as Bass was defensively. Never forget that.

If he could learn to control himself on offense, he'd be doing just fine. He hustles and he defends, and he's an ok rebounder. It's on offense where he's forcing the issue as if he needs to prove something either to himself or others.

He just needs to stop shooting unless he's open.
