Nope. Steph has injury concerns. Too much upside for Biz to make that trade.

yes. i would take that gamble. steph is an all-star level point guard. while i have high hopes for biz, there is no guarantee he will get to steph's level one day. we could then probably move kemba or dj for a young big man with upside.

No only because we don't know what ceiling Biz has yet.....plus the whole thing about never trading big for small......

^ if not for Curry's chronic ankle problems, then Yes without hesitation..
Otherwise, I would want to first wait and see Curry finish out the year without any further issues.
If we end up with #1 and end up drafting Anthony Davis as our 4, it's going to create a logjam. Biyombo can play some 5 but he is not a full time 5. I value him very highly and would be reluctant to trading him but you'd have a hard time passing on a playe rlike Curry

Well you also have to think, it'll be almost a whole year (like 9 months or so) before they'd see the floor together. That's a lot of reps. I don't know if Bismack can do it, or can't. But it's not like the draft is tonight either.

Not Biyombo, but I'd do it for Walker. Curry's ankle is definitely a cause of concern, but it's worth the risk. Curry is a future superstar.BigSlam wrote:Who would trade Biz for Steph Curry - straight up?
investigate Adam Silver

When does he stop being a future superstar and start being one? He and Augustin are only a few months apart... Do you really think he has that much room to develop?

Why isn't he? Besides, he's only 19 and might actually grow a little more. It seems like a given that he'll bulk up quite a bit too.

Foolish statement, Biyombo is more of a 5 then Mullens and Hawes combined, Biyombo has the athleticism needed to play the 5 and has a longer wingspan then dwight howard, just because hes not a white center who plays euro style'd ball doesn't mean hes isn't anymore capable of playing center then any of the lower tier centers you covet so much.

No, never trade a big for a PG, plus if Kemba for whatever reason doesn't pan out, I'm sure Steph would sign here once hes a UFA

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
No. For the reason already mentioned and sure not before draft day this year. I think Bismack > any young big man we could get for DJ or Kemba. Drummond or Davis may be another story but then it would be a nice problem to solve or rather no problem at all (there are two starting big men spots and most probably both won´t be their best case scenarios) Current value wise we should say yea but I would rather hold lottery tickets we draw and hope they pan out and if not then repeat then rush things building around injury prone main piece. Good point is Curry is one of the few that would be more willing to sign with Charlotte via free agency anyway.

It's only Curry's third year in the league. He's 23 years old and hasn't even gotten into his prime yet. He's already become a star, if he doesn't take that step to superstardom in the next two or three years, then he probably won't.
And his ceiling is a lot higher than Augustin. Augustin won't ever be an All-Star, but he also has some room for improvement.
investigate Adam Silver

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
Even disregarding Biyombo's potential, I wouldn't do the trade. Remember that this is a point guard's league and guys like Curry are slowly becoming saturated. You won't get someone at Curry's level, but if you were able to trade for say a Devin Harris while being able to keep Biyombo, I'd rather do that.
And also while this is turning into a point guards league, it is still big men that dictate the sport. Now considering potential, Biyombo could be a game changer, one that would will be highly coveted in the coming years, that it may be Golden State that will be knocking on Charlotte's door offering Curry for Biyombo.

What? 4s are generally more athletic than 5s by far. That's just silly.

He would be a man among boys this year, probably. He killed the top talent at the hoop summit, including anthony davis.
